The last of the human freedoms, to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances. (Frankl, 1946)
Good morning, everybody!
On this last weekday of 2022, I wanted to thank everybody for a year of support, knowledge and fun. Each of you makes my life brighter by being a part of it. As I have said before, my menu friends are very dear to me. Regardless of whether your New Years's plans involve going out and painting the town red or staying in and binge watching Milf Manor, I hope that you have a wonderful holiday.
I played Pickleball for the first time yesterday. I am not really a racquet sports person, but it was pretty fun. I don't think that I will ever become a regular, but being able to play well enough to sub in occasionally.
Also, the kids made salmon tacos and we watched Glass Onion. I liked the first Knives Out better. Also hit the Brooks Brothers after Christmas sale.
Today, I have half of that one thing for work, Crossfit, and the tennis ladies are having a party tonight. They said that the dress code was "sparkly", so Marilyn is out looking for some sparkle as we speak. Tomorrow morning we have to be up very early to take DD to the airport.
QOTD: Probably the best thing was that my youngest seems to have adapted to college and seems to have met some people and enjoyed his major. We had a wonderful time Iceland and Norway as well. And got to meet my menu friends in California.

Lunch: Leftover fish tacos
Dinner: Party is Pot Luck, so all of the things most likely.
Happy New Years, all!

I have a friend that went from just giving it a try to being on 3 pickle ball leagues. It happened fast enough that I asked if pickle ball was a cult.

Being in CrossFit, I can't really accuse others of cult activity...

It is a cult! And Roger is a high priest I think! Our lives revolve around the pickleball schedule and all equipment is going with us on the road trip so he can pick up games where ever we are. He and several of our friends love it. A real good friend built a court at his house, so they can play whenever. For me the best thing about pickleball is it gets Roger out of the house and I get a few hours alone. LOL. They keep wanting me to play, and I use the excuse "My physical therapist is a hard no on me doing pickleball" so they leave me alone. Currently the number one weekend warrior injury causing sport in ED rooms across the United States. Drink the kool-aid. It really is great for getting a fun work out and socializing. I'm glad Roger found it post retirement.
Do your friend's neighbors mind the noise? Or maybe they all play too?

Oh no. One neighbor REALLY minds and it's an issue. Which they all find ironic since they were all playing when she came to look at the house the first time before she bought it. On a Tuesday morning. So my friend limits playing hours some, but at the end of the day, he's an attorney, knows his property rights and is totally willing to compromise, but not roll over and quit playing.
