Good morning everyone and happy Friday! QJB, I hope your cold resolves it self fast - sadly, I find the when I push myself for an extended time like you have been, the first time I let up, my body just finds something to force a collapse. Clearly the message is "stay in overdrive as long as possible".....I may be taking the wrong message from that, lol.
QOTD - I don't remember every believing in Santa but I have enjoyed how long we've kept my nieces and nephews believing!
I've had my first cup of coffee, did my workout and played my brain games, now I'm enjoying a second cup before I go to the garage and clean out my car and make a quick run to the grocery store.
Yesterday, our high ended up being -1 and the feels like got all the way up to -23 (and down to -33); I did get out and shovel because I wanted to test out some of my gear for Lapland. I am going to be really torn, my Antarctica jacket is clearly the one I should take but it's so stiff and bulky....but they will give us Michelin man suits for the husky ride and the snowmobiling, so really, do I need the bulky stiff one or can I get by with my super long (goes to my ankles, tested to -17 or so duffel coat). The bonus is my duffle coat is bright pink so if I get lost in the forest they can find me easily-- that could be life saving, right?
Today one of my nephews (and possibly my other nephew and niece) are coming up from the springs so we can go see the Apollo exhibition at the nature and science museum. Not sure if they two youngest will really come, they are not quite as geeky about space stuff as the oldest and I am. We'll see. It's supposed to be much nice today, in the positive double digits, high of 15, which is not stupid cold, just cold.
menu today
coffee plus half and half X2
Yogurt
lunch - if I can persuade nephew and it's open, we'll go to the chipotle but for Indian food over by the bookstore and I'll have samosa and naan.
dinner - not sure, depends on what I find at the grocery store this morning
My pictures today are my paperwhites that started blooming and in honor of the solstice two of my Stonehenge solstice pics.
Have a terrific friday everyone and those of your further east, please be safe and warm!

I'm jelly over the Apollo exhibit! I'm a huge geek with it too. I have an Apollo 8 mission coin made from some metal that flew around the moon with them. I also have a ton of pictures my grandparents had. My uncle had worked for McDonald Douglas I believe. It's some of my favorite things. Some from Apollo 11 and one of an Apollo space craft lifting off. It's cool stuff!

I say fashion over practicality. Team Pink! Your day sound fun. I would love to see the air and space museum. Have not been to the Smithsonian since the early 70's but remember being very intrigued. Enjoy your holiday.

Good Morning and Happy Fri-yay and the day before the night before Christmas. JB- congrats on finishing up the busy cookie season in addition to the school session! I hope you feel better so you can enjoy the weekend plans. I have a full day of training to do with my new team member today and we are also celebrating two birthdays for lunch so it should go by quickly. We don't have much planned for Christmas, especially with Em still sick it's best to stay home and not spread germs.
QOTD: I did for entirely way too long. Even as an adult, I don't believe in "Santa" but in Christmas miracles. There are things that happen during the holiday season that aren't explainable. I don't even know if that makes sense.
Menu for today is up in the air. I am having my sausage and oatmeal for breakfast but we haven't decided on the choice for lunch yet and that leaves dinner unknown in case there are lunch leftovers.
Pic is my before/after X-ray of my ankle.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and Merry Christmas.
