G'morning all!

QJB, those cookies are soooo cool. I'm curious why am Econ Prof would want cookies. He is giving them to his students? Never had a prod who gave out stuff.

Our entertainment center saga continues. I thought they would come yesterday, install and go. But nooooo! Instead of arriving at 9:00 they arrived at 1:00 pm, so half the day was already gone. Once they started installing the lower cabinets, they realized they are 2" short (wall to wall). In the mean time on site they had made holes in the back of the cabinets to match the plugs, cable, etc that we needed to reach. So everything had to be pulled out and moved, the holes had to be made a little bigger (no big deal) so now it's 1" gap on each side. Back to the workshop to make a 45° angle piece for the 1" gap. And we haven't even put the shelves up. Today they are coming back to hopefully finish. The wood is exactly what I had hoped for, it matches the ceiling beams and after all is done you'd think the house came with this piece. There has been some drama about the shelves inside the cabinets too but I won't bore you with it. I was hoping to have a pic of final project for today but I'll post it next week when it's all done, because the TV hasn't arrived yet either.

QOTD: my husband. The geeky stuff he wants either he gets them right away or I wouldn't even understand them to get them. So the kids and I do experiences or just plain silly gifts for him.

In lieu of my entertainment center pic, here is a pic of a recent beach walk with pretty clouds.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Chicken meatballs with cauliflower rice
  • Jello, epic chicken, protein puffs
  • Tuna & hb eggs
  • E: 10K wog

Happy Fri-yay!

As far as I understood the department was having an end of semester party for the kids today, so they had a big spread with treats and coffee. So nice! I assure you none of my professors have offered me a cookie!

QJB-I am hoping your schedule calms down but so happy for your booming business!

I am working from home today. For my bday DH bought me a travel monitor for my computer so I can dual screen. I am excited to have this option since it is cumbersome to do my work otherwise. I am going to an early yoga class. After work/school (DD) will take a few items back to the store.

Not a lot planned this weekend. Maybe go see the eagles and view some Christmas lights.

QOTD: I have a BIL who is difficult to buy for because he buys himself whatever he wants.

Love the Meme I miss Orange is the New Black. The character she played was so horrible.

I picked up Romeo at 3:30 and when I let him in the house one of the girls hissed at him. I guess he didn't smell the same, but it all calmed down and they were all on my lap not long after. I'm not sure why but I was worried about him, feeling guilty for having this done to him even though it is for the best. Just a softy, they have very quickly won my heart. I wasn't sure if it was too soon to get another cat after Sammy, but they are all different.

I got my dreaded job completed, just waiting for the job review. I'll have another one to revise today, waiting for the planner to let me know what they want to do. I will have to place some cable, just not sure how much or where.

This week has gone by really quick. Can't believe it is already Friday.

QJB does your Dad like audio books? I'm sure you've probably already thought of that.

I'm re-reading The Hobbit, I forgot how good it was.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Good morning and happy Friday! The days do tend to blur together once you've retired, but Fridays are still special because there is a greater chance of seeing the kids and the grands over the next two days! We've got some fun stuff on the agenda this weekend.

Yesterday I was very successful with food and exercise. I switched my tracking to "stairs" for the stair walk for the first time. I usually use "outdoor walk". Anyway, it gave me credit for 44 flights. And then I did the long walk home. Overall I exceeded my daily goal of 30+ minutes of movement and kept my calories in check. I definitely am feeling stronger in my legs and core. And my pants reflect that a bit even if my weight hasn't changed.

Today I just have errands to run. Tomorrow we are going to an annual retired elevator guy luncheon which is slightly boring and slightly amusing and will have dry chicken served. It's like a tradition I think. And on Sunday we are taking our oldest grand "sky diving" Ifly She'll get 4 opportunities of 60 seconds each to get airborne. It's like the minute immediately after jumping out of a plane before the parachute is let loose. This was our birthday gift to her. And then after that Rog and I have a dinner date and tickets to Harry Connick Jr. Really looking forward to that.

QoTD: Our son Ryan.

Menu:

B: last leftover meatball with cottage cheese

L: dinner from last night. It was ridiculously good. Chicken thigh, goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, baby potatoes and brussels sprouts. I saved myself a small portion just so I could eat it again.

D: Shepard's pie and a small salad.

Peace Everybody!
