Well that sounds terrifying to see, somehow. There's so much unexplained activity in our skies these days.

When I was a kid in upstate New York, I remember seeing big floating, bright white orbs on the front lawn. I ran and hid under the bed and told my mom about it. A couple of weeks later, we saw more floating balls along the sidewalk. She did, too. Ball lightning. Have never seen it before or since. Not saying that's what you saw but your story reminded me of that experience. :)

Also, and more importantly, hope you're all prepped and your surgery goes well!

The US government started a debunking campaign in the 1950's when a lot of people began reporting UFO sightings. The public was told that people who saw UFO's were fakes and/or drunks. Most people quickly learned to keep their sightings to themselves.

Around 1980 I was taking the garbage out and looked up to see what I thought was the moon. It was a large object about the size of the moon. Most of our neighborhood came out and watched it. It stayed in the same place for several hours, then shot across the sky and disappeared.

People used binoculars to see it and took pictures. There was a small article in the newspaper the next day. Some people continued to look for it, but I don't think anyone ever said they saw it again.

One friend was traveling with her sister to the air force base in Dayton, Ohio where her brother-in-law was stationed. She looked out the window and remarked how big the moon was that night. Her sister said that the moon was on the other side of them. The light followed them for miles and then landed on the road in front of their car. The car stopped running.

The object rose again and disappeared. After it was gone, they were able to start the car again. When they got to the base, they told the husband what had happened. He told them that they had seen something they should not have and that they were never to tell anyone about it. She told me after her sister and husband had both passed on.

Someone had a post on Facebook recently something like, "On a small planet of a medium size star a group of apes decided that the universe was all about them."
