What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good mornin everyone, JB, hoping your day today is better!

My surgery is scheduled for January 3rd. While I wi**** was sooner I am also quite relieved it's not right before Christmas like my back surgery last year. It'll be an overnight stay due to me needing to lay flat that long...at least. I have a very high chance of getting a spinal headache with this until the incision site heals up on the back enough. They'll be nothing I can do about it if it happens so I'll be laying flat for a few days aftward. BUT. YAY! Finally getting it scheduled and hopefully it'll get approved. It's promising that it will since they approved the trial.

Going to get doubled jabbed today. Flu and Covid. They wouldn't do it before or after my trial for 2 weeks both ways. Then I got sick and they wouldn't do it then. So today I'll finally get that done. We have to run to Walmart for just a few things and the pharmacy too.

Yesterday I was really sad when my nieces and nephew left. The oldest...Rachel...didn't want to leave. Her momma plays favorites and she is at the bottom of that. I don't get it. I know we all think at some point or another that our parents play that game. My mom was actually great. My grandma favored the boys, big big time. So my mom was bound and determined not to follow. My SIL was the bottom of her three siblings so I don't get why she is doing the same damned thing to her kids. I hugged Rachel so hard. I wish we could have her live here some. I just absolutely hate my SIL does this and my brother is to damned lazy to do much of anything.

QOTD: if I had money I would have! LOL. I'm already almost done shopping though. I need to think of a way to make some money because I also have 2 birthdays this month. SSI is only 560 a month and I help with the car payment so it doesn't go very far. Might try selling some ornaments! My mom did buy me a pair of crocs and I was able to get a couple of tshirts from teepublic,

B: JUST egg cup and coffee x2

The rest is woefully unplanned.

Sunset last night. It got better but I got cold LOL

Congratulations on getting the surgery scheduled. It's been a long road for you to get there! I hope it works out for you.

Sorry to hear about the favoritism in the family. It's never good for anyone involved. :(

That's great you got what you were hoping for. Maybe you can ask SIL if Rach can stay during the holiday break so she can help you and your mom bake so it doesn't seem like you just want to get her away from her. The sky picture is amazing.

Yay, on the scheduled surgery for the pain pump!

I feel bad for your niece. I hate it when favoritism happens blatantly like you describe.

Mornin' All!

I'm feeling pretty bloated this morning - not sure what's up with that. Other than Thanksgiving, I've been eating around 1200 kcal/day. And exercising. Hmmm. Must be fiber or sodium (more likely the first - my sodium intake has been lower than usual, too). We'll see where I'm at tomorrow...

nothing scheduled for today other than my in-person class at 4:00. I need to make something for a meeting tomorrow (I'm thinking cranberry scones because I have a ton of cranberries now), and I may make some protein muffins, too - with cranberries. And do some kind of exercise. Maybe walking (outside) or a strength-training class over at the gym.

Last night I watched a bunch of videos for my global health class on the current and upcoming water crisis (i.e., lack of water, the effect of warming on marine life, plus ocean acidification). There are days I'm glad I'll be dead in 30 years. This is going to be awful.

QOTD: not really. Although last week, when I was buying some latex "finger cots" from Amazon (I have to use them when I give the cats transdermal meds) and had to buy something else in order to meet the minimum for free shipping, I noticed a bag of Fit Frappe Mocha for $39, so i bought it (even though I used to get Fit Frappe for around $10 less than that, it's pretty much $50 and up everywhere now - for a 3 lb bag of protein powder - yikes!). So...that. In short, I got a good deal on a bag of protein powder (and I happen to love Fit Frappe - haven't had it in ages!)

B: I'm not hungry at all, so I may just have a protein shake and have my regular breakfast later. Coffee with half & half.

MS: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote

L: salad with chicken breast strips and light dressing

AS: maybe some yogurt bark (I have some in my freezer than I made last week)

D: chicken breast and a small sweet potato

have a great day, everyone!

Trish, how's it going with the Phentermine? Is it impacting your appetite? Wishing you great success on this!

Also, since I have the grandkiddo's, I'm always so sad to hear about future-casts with the environment. I know we are trying hard to make the best choices to help reduce impacts where ever we can, but it's disappointing how many people are not even trying.

it's going pretty well! I don't get as buzzed in the morning as I did at first - but it HAS really cut my hunger. I start getting hungry at night, though - I suppose since the Phentermine is wearing off then. So far I've been good about not caving in to it, though (maybe I could have done this all along?? Although at least the drug keeps me on track during the day - plus it's keeping me motivated to stay on track overall, because I don't want to blow my chance!)

and yes - I agree with you on the climate stuff. It's distressing to see people waste water - and/or not recycle..

Good morning, everybody!

My kids are doing their Christmas List and DD asked for Fishwife Tinned Fish. I know that it is a Foodie thing and a woman owned business, but not much more than that. You are definitely getting older when your children request canned protein under the tree.

After my whining about not being able to sleep more than 4 or 5 hours a night lately, I was 7:58 on the CPAP machine and had napped in the afternoon. So a catch up, I guess. This was the culprit: Every five minutes for 4 rounds - 15 Calories Assault Bike, 20 Wallball shots (20 pounds, 10 feet), 50 foot walking lunge with 25 pound plate held overhead. It definitely knocked me out.

I was planning on having one last round of leftovers today, but Google seems to say that Monday is freeze or throw away for Thanksgiving food. So, Im not going to take my chances.

Our last guests are leaving today.

QOTD: No shopping for me yet. Marilyn has done a little bit. We are getting a sparkling wine delivery next week.

Breakfast: Egg sandwich

Lunch: Ahi tuna salad

Dinner: Cheeseburgers

Have a great day, all!
