I had no idea that the rower was good for posture!

My trainer said it's because of the motion and it helps with those same muscles that get weak when you do the blackberry prayer/slouch forward/lean your head forward a lot. I had nuns so I have decent posture but that's offset by all the devices, lol

Customer service has come a long way over the years in a great way but to the point where they have to take it is not so good.

Mornin' All!

We went to a fancy dinner the legacy association of the university put on last night - so much food and free wine (!). Feeling fat and headachy this morning. The same association is having a tailgate party this morning that we signed up for, but the weather is awful and I'm feeling almost as awful as the weather - so not sure if I'll go or not. Plus parking is going to be a bear since the football game starts at 11:00 (not going to the game - but we did sign up for the tailgate). We've headed to these tailgates once or twice before in past years but turned around and went home when we discovered we'd have to park about a million miles away. Too bad the weather is so crappy, or we could bike there... Other than this tailgate party we may or may not attend, nothing on the agenda for today. I'll use it to get caught up with things.

QOTD: I don't think my family has any particular demands (other than my brother-in-law who always insisted on having green bean casserole when I've been wanting to pitch it for years in exchange for something a little more interesting and modern - but they moved to Nevada this past summer, so we can FINALLY replace that dish!!) - however, I always have to make this sweet potato casserole recipe that I found in either Bon Appetit or Gourmet magazine a bazillion years ago. Since I'm in charge of cooking, that will be on the table for sure.

B: plain skyr with fruit, coffee with half & half

MS: not sure because I don't know if we're going to this tailgate or not, and if so, what they'll have there. If I stay home, then probably a protein shake

L: if I eat lunch (probably won't if we make it to the tailgate), then salad with chicken and light dressing

AS: protein muffin

D: eggroll in a bowl

have a great Saturday, all! I hope the weather is better where you are!

My SIL makes that green bean casserole every year. How I hate it! Your idea sounds much better!

You know, I'm kind of glad my immediate family has pitched most foods attached to tradition. We still have turkey a lot, sometimes two due to the battle of baked versus fried! But two years ago my family was perfectly fine cooking hotdogs on sticks over my firepit while I made Annie's Mac and cheese. I'd moved into my house four days earlier and they wanted to come visit. Yay for flexibility. We also eat lasagna on Xmas a lot because of my stepfather's secret recipe. He also makes a good sage stuffing. Feels fortunate that we were never a green bean casserole family. :) Not sure I've ever had it, actually...

Two things I always thought are disgusting are the green bean casserole and the sweet potatoes with marshmallows. However, I found myself making them for family meals for many years.

Funny. At Walmart today in the produce section is a giant sectioned dump bin with sweet potatoes, marshmallows, and brown sugar. My mother always just uses Bruce's candied yams when she wants them. Ah, memories.
