What's On Your Thursday Menu?
When I lived in Southern California (16 years ago) it seemed like either a sprinkle or a torrential downpour where the roads were overloaded with water. sounds like you got the downpour. Good job on finishing the walk despite the rain! I don't think I would have taken a ride from a random stranger anyways.

QOTD- Still in the process of falling, we should soon be overwhelmed. I need to at least buy a rake, I despise leaf blowers but I suspect I won't have any choice, too many leaves.
The kittens got their 2nd shots yesterday. They are now Romeo 4.2lbs, Sissy 3.8lbs and Vee 3.75lbs. They barely all fit in the cat carrier. I had bought a larger one when I thought I would have to ship my Sammy but didn't use it since I carried him on the plane. It's at my Mom's so I'll have to go pick it up for future. I'm also trying to find a low cost spay and neuter clinic. There is one but the wait list is closed, and I don't think I can wait 2-7 months. I'll keep looking.
I just heard a crash up here but haven't been able to figure out what it was, maybe it was in the garage I'll look there next.
I can't figure out where it came from, I'm sure I will later.
I need to get to work.
Have a great day everyone!

I have raked lots of leaves in my life. I never hired anyone to do it and it was a regular part of my life in the fall to go out and fill up leaf bags on the weekends.
With my new condo, there are landscaping guys who come and remove the leaves and it is fun to look out the window at the huge mountains of leaves that they remove. I always got the ladder out after the leaves came down and cleaned out all of the gutters. I don't see that ever happening again.

I had the reminder in suburbia where my family lives that bagging leaves for removal is a thing. And also saw it in communities on my trip.
From a country perspective, I'm lucky just to have a trash hauler willing to come out (though not when it rains - they're afraid of getting stuck) but they won't take yard waste. My options are mulch, burn, or haul to the dump. I've chosen the first two and tossing some in the woods. My leaves have been coming down since August from the heat stress, so it's been a process. Wish there was time to deal with it all. I tried raking the first year. :) whew.

There is a huge push to get people to stop bagging and raking leaves. It's better for the environment to leave them and also the bagged ones are horrible in the landfill I guess. I am doing my part and not raking this year!

Totally on board with not sending them to the landfill! I've requested as much mulching as possible to replenish the soil. Buuut...too many to just not do anything. Leaves are great firepit fuel!

Good Morning Jim and Menuers,
Sounds like an awesome weekend. Wish I had exciting weekends like you, but I am not envious of having to be in the airport that much. Granted I love to fly but I hate waiting around to get on the plane.
I came to the conclusion that I need to tidy up my schedule and put exercise back in. How I am going to do it I am not sure yet, but I cannot continue with what I am doing. I brought my running shoes and I plan on walking at lunch today. Starting tomorrow I am planning my morning wal****il it becomes a run again. I am sad I let myself fall so far but it is nothing new. I have done this 100's of times in my life. I wish I had a better metabolism, so I didn't have to work so hard at this. I do like the way skinny feels.
OK people as I directed Shelia to Dark-Chocolate-Espresso M&M's they are available for home delivery at Walmart.com. They have $35 free shipping so add some protein or pork rinds to balance it out and get free shipping. Pork King Good rinds are my suggestion.
QOTD: Ron just runs them over with the tractor. All of our trees are on the property line, so we do not have too much to contend with.
Accountability: I ate a bag of Dark Chocolate Espresso M&M's and 2 Snickerdoodles.
