Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! Do you have the day off? I sort of accidentally took the day off yesterday. I woke up with a terrible headache and nausea. I napped twice and never really made it too far off of the couch. I don't really have a way to "call out sick" with grad school or my own business, so I just need to get my butt moving today to make up for it. I feel better but not 100%.

I need to throw myself into schoolwork first thing and hopefully if I catch up there, I can do some serious baking. I think another 6 batches are needed for the week, and I would prefer to just get it all done in one day.

QOTD: Ok I know in reality that all of these need to go, but if 2 of these never existed, what would you choose?

Easy choice for me. First, I really dislike ice cream, so that can go! I could give up soda very easily, too. I could say goodbye to cake, too!

Accountability: Friday was my worst day ever. Saturday was better. Sunday I didn't eat at all because I felt awful.

I am not really sure what I am up for eating today. I'm starting with a double espresso to try to wake up and praying my tummy can handle it. From there I will plan of having some scrambled eggs, but I can't even imagine eating lunch or dinner right now... It might be an accidental egg fast all day...

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone! We do not have a holiday today -- our next one is US Thanksgiving.

Hope you feel better today QJB!

My weekend was great and this is set to be a busy week so I'm going to jump into it very quickly!

QOTD - I haven't had a soda in 8-9 year so I'll go with that and chips; I can take or leave them most of the time anyway.

I'm going to jump on the rower as soon as I finish this and there's a weight series I want to do this afternoon so that's my exercise planned out.

Menu is

coffee plus half and half X 2

English muffin with scrambled egg

yogurt or built bar

bison burger with cheese

Have a terrific start to the week everyone!

Good mornin JB and everyone. Hope you feel better as the day moves on JB.

Not just a whole lot planned for the day. I'm going to try and take a walk today when we have the kids for a few hours. We'll see how long I can go. I have some kind of sinus thing going on that I should probably go to the doctor about but i'm trying to avoid it...I'm taking Sudafed and Tylenol for the headache. At least the glands behind my ears don't hurt anymore. I think I'm on the upward swing of it.

I have to call the pain pump team to see if I can get my Covid booster tomorrow. I'm also hoping to get double vaccinated and get the flu shot too.

I'm so tired of being tired. I sound like a broken record...I know. I just can't seem to sleep and when I do they are filled with vivid dreams that are usually nightmares.

QOTD: ice cream(I like it but I'm a bit of a snob with it, I just have certain standards for it) and soda. I do like soda but could easily live with out it.

B: JUST egg bowl and coffee x2

L: baked tostada shell, 1 oz ground beef, sour cream, tomato, onion & lettuce and spinach tamales

D: taco salad with no dressing but 1 tbs sour cream

S: PP shake, maybe popcorn and ???

Ice Cream was my "heroin" before surgery. I would easily eat a pint of Ben and Jerrys or Hagaan Daz ice cream nightly. I try ot avoid it since I dont want to venture down that rabbit hole... Now I just try to have a single scoop cone or small soft serve when I do have it.

It's funny. I could be a sucker for a dark chocolate gelato. I know I have problems with addiction to certain kinds of foods and that as you say, it can be a rabbit hole.

Even part of today's conversation with the dietician included him trying to tell me it's okay to eat certain foods while I tried to explain to him it doesn't always work for me that way. I don't crave sweets...until I eat sweets. Then it really is like a drug.

There is definite addiction issues with me as well. I don't keep certain things in the house if I can help it. If its there I eat it. I'm better than I used to be but given the wrong mental space on any given day...then I'm down & out.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Sitting outside the clinic for my follow up today. Yesterday was a train wreck. Following Jim's methodology

The Good

Beautiful sunrise. And moon. Yay for getting done with shopping early. My pups loved birthday treats. I had 32 ounces of water by 9:30am! I now know how to use pipe tape and replace pressure switches without frying myself.

The Bad

My local Walmart is discontinuing a ton of stuff I like. All Blake's, Amy's, Saffron Road, and Evol products. Most Morningstar Farms stuff. And so much more. I didn't exercise yesterday when I was scheduled to.

The Ugly

I have no water at home. At 9:30 I tried to wash my hands and zip. I had just put on laundry, so ran to turn that off. Until 6:30 I was troubleshooting water things because Sunday and most plumbing services don't deal with wells. I didn't eat or drink anything until then because after the water went out I realized I have nothing to drink in the house. So I'm sore from bending and stooping and running back and forth to the house dozens of times to the breaker and such. Still no water. And now I don't want to cook because of it. Waiting for one of the five plumbers I called yesterday to call me back. Sigh. So I didn't meet my protein goals. Or exercise. But with how sweaty I got yesterday...don't feel as bad about that.

I'm off today but I took it because of appointments.

QOTD- same as you. All the sweet stuff can go. Let me have my salty!

Accountability- um. I didn't eat or drink enough so am doing a bad job recovering from last week's intestinal issues.

Exercise- maybe? Yes. Yes, I will.

Menu - up in the air. Have a protein shake with me.

Cheers, everyone.

Thanks! Two plumbers got back to me today...and then showed up at the same time. That was awkward. :) They were able to diagnose that the issue is down the pipe. Could be a connection gone bad, a bad pump, or a dry well. Really hoping it's not the last one. I picked the small, local business with the guy who's been dealing with wells longer than I've been alive. They're coming back in the morning to pull it. Fingers crossed!

Water problems. So sorry to hear that. Maybe you should think about keeping a few cases of water in the house moving forward. DH never has less than 5 cases in the garage at any given time. They have come in handy on more than one occasion. Good luck with your appointments. Sending good vibes.
