QJB-I bet you are sore from all that baking and cookie rolling! Love the QOTD!

Back in the office today with a couple of meeting this morning, then the usual paperwork. Not much to report today.

QOTD: Hello! I grew up in Montana. I spent the first 12 years living on the Blackfoot Reservation where my dad was a teacher. We moved to the big city (60k population) when I was going into junior high. This is where I lived until I left for college. I married my high school sweetheart who I met my senior year of high school. I am a registered nurse, graduating with my BSN in 1992. I have worked in critical care, telemetry, OR recovery room, GI research, and currently as a Bariatric Nurse Coordinator (quality improvement, data recording and analysis, etc). I have lived in a variety of places since leaving Montana (Augusta, GA; Shreveport, LA; Great Falls, MT; Carlsbad, CA; Burbank to Sherman Oaks, CA; Deerborn, MI: and now Spokane WA). I was chubby all my life, my first diet when I was in high school. I actually maintained decent weight (150#****il I started nursing school. Since then, it has been a roller coaster with mostly ups in weight. I always thought I could lose weight without surgery until I was weighing 298# and did not want to be socially active. I had my RNY in March 2021. The best decision I have made. I have 2 children (DS 18 years, DD 16 years), been married for 32 years, and have 2 dogs (rottie and mini goldendoodle). Also my DD has 2 quaker parrots.

Accountability: a few grapes

Usual diet, same as yesterday.

Exercise: 60 min hot yoga.

Good morning! I did a great job on food yesterday and not quite as much wine. Being DD in the daytime (and being in charge of brown dog to be sure he doesn?t nip anyone) has been helpful in keeping total calories down. I skipped my walk yesterday but I am going as soon as I hit send on this message. Then I need to clean up and get ready because first wine tasting of the day is scheduled for 10:15 a.m.! Ugh, glad I am not indulging.

QOTD: I am a Navy brat who moved so much I went to about 10 different schools through 12th grade. I have always been some version of round and I?m not real tall. Like you all, I tried a million things, but just kept adding weight. I started seriously investigating WLS in 2018. I told no one but my doctor until I throughly researched it and made a decision. Then I let Rog know I was doing it. I have a great support group in my inner circle and you guys and I?m navigating as best I can. At my lowest I had a 97 pound loss, but have added some back and am hovering at around 84 pounds down. I?m trying to do better with exercise to build bone and muscle strength and it really does help with my mood and energy.

I am a Mom of three kids. Two boys and a girl and while one is gone, I adore them all and spend as much time as possible with them. We have two gorgeous granddaughters and they keep me endlessly entertained. I spent 40 years in Industrial Supplies and just retired. We love traveling in our RV and via any other method. We have two dogs that are more spoiled than the grandkids!

menu is again,I don't know, but I am having a great time in wine country.

Peace Everybody!

Thank you, I am only three years out, so I think I still have some luck on my side. But I'm working on my whole game so I can have as much success as possible!

G'morning all!

Great news about your nephew. It's a good sign that he wants to move around. Hopefully the biopsy results are good too.

QOTD: I grew up in Italy. Traveled s lot as a kid and teenager. According to my mom (I don't remember this) when I was 9 and we came to US I told her to leave me behind with my uncle who lived in LA, I had fallen in love with Disney Land and everything else a 9 year old associates with USA. Obviously that didn't happen so I went about making it happen. I wanted to get a job at UN but when I applied they said I need a master. So I got accepted at Boston University for a masters program and moved to US, not thinking about moving here forever. Between my bachelor and master I had applied for a gov job (foreign affairs Dept) in Italy that usually accepts applicants on a SAT test like basis. Usually there are 50 openings and 50,000 apply so that's how they figure out who to hire. I wasn't hired on the first round but while in US studying got the word I got the job (2nd or 3rd round of hirings). Off I went, and was sent right away to Iran. Forgot to say while in Boston met my future DH, but didn't think much of it. I was off to conquer and travel the world. We had a long distance relationship for about 2 years until he proposed over the phone, literally across the world. The rest is history. Came here (CA), got married, got a job, we have two kids (DD24, DS20). My weight problems started when I got pregnant with DD, also due to so many new foods here in US. Tried everything but nothing stuck. Would lose 50, gain 60, lose 60, gain 70. So happy I finally got the surgery and stopped the yo-yo. Phew...that was a long one.

My meals yesterday (mostly snack food, was on the road):

  • Coffee
  • Epic chicken & puff protein (or as Amy calls it teeth cement)
  • Jello, hb egg, plantain chips
  • Iced coffe w/PP
  • E: 5 miles neighborhood uphill Wog

Happy jr Fri-yay.
