We have decided not to get our dogs ACL fixed since the reinjure rate is so high. She does limp around a bit at times but still acts like a puppy with tearing around with our other dog, wanting to chase a ball, running in the yard. Plus the cost!

I hope all is well with your dog after the careful recovery you have undertaken.

Actually, our research points us in the other direction. Once the plate is completely planted and healed, the reinjury rate of that leg is very, very small. Those plates are much stronger than bone. The chance of injuring the other leg remain the same whether or not the first leg is repaired. It's high. If they tear one, the risk of the other one being torn increases. Lack of repair leads to severe arthritis, pain and lameness, resulting in needed arthritis drugs that are rough on their kidneys and requiring anti-inflammatories as well as long term compromised life style.

The expense was steep, I admit, but I think he'll have lots of years of happy life running with his brother ahead of him! It's been absolutely worth the careful recovery and restrictions.

I'm glad your girl is managing well with her torn A.L. These dogs are like are kids...

No, this is a picture of an old college friend, Kim, and myself. We used to cause quite the amount of trouble together. I think it may be too soon for pictures with my new friend, Emily.

That clown / mime is what attracted me to this random Facebook ad. I am tempted to send it to my Dad for his birthday but I don't think he would appreciate it.

Happy Friday!

QJB-I am curious. Do you use a computer to create the images (like the Starbucks logo)? Those cookies look so professional.

Yum on the lobster roll. I made a bariatric version of the lobster roll (ate the inside only, modified to less calories and fat) that was so good. I have been on the lookout for lobster on sale since that time (no luck there). Someone told me recently that the lobster market is a big fix on prices, that there is plenty of lobster, not difficult to catch but the market inflates the prices to make it a luxury item. I wonder if that is true.

Beautiful pictures of Maine coastline.

My weekend plans include seeing my sister tonight when she gets into town from Seattle. She is here to visit her daughter (my niece *****cently moved here). She wont be here until around 7. Tomorrow me, DD, and her BBF are going to a friends lake house for a painting party (think paint and wine theme). We will plan on spending the night up there just for the heck of it. Maybe some lake time in the kayak if it is warm enough.

QOTD: I dont read magazines in general (unless I am in a waiting room and they are available). I get bored with the short articles. Much prefer to read a book.

Accountability: Excellent-no popcorn. Whoo Hoo!

B: triple zero greek yogurt with collagen, keto granola, blueberries, cold brew with half n half

L: Summer salad with chicken, light poppy seed dressing

S: protein frosty

D: Curried, fruited chicken salad

S: 100 cal bag popcorn, 4 squares sf chocolate

E: 60 min hot yoga

Have a great weekend.
