Good Morning QJB and Menuers,

I am so glad your feeling better Julia.

There was a lot of interaction on the thread yesterday.

Jen congratulations on the new position. And I do got to say about the RGF. It is always so willie nellie of what the stores carry. I wish there was just a RGF section but they break it up at Walmart and you really have to look it up on there website and see what isle each of the products are in. I still have never seen the bowls and I would love to try those.

Thanks Lana for the encouragement. I put on the Hocka's and headed out this morning. Maybe a little to late to get that 10lbs off in 22 days but I was out there.

JB the fresh fig jam is really good. Not as jelled as the store bought stuff and I just been eating it by the spoonful.

Amy if you want me to bring you a sauce I am sure it will fit in my luggage. I'll be more than happy to chuck it in there.

Jim I am so glad you and Marilyn will be looking out for me. My DH will be glad to hear that but no need to bring the check book. I have contacts in my phone of dear friends in Long Beach that would not be surprised if they needed to post bail for me. They have seen me in action.

Chrissy-I am so proud of you for getting out for your exercise! You should be proud of yourself. Keep up the "fake it til you make it" motivation if that is what it takes until you have built some real motivation. You will be feeling belter mentally and physically everyday that passes. Dont give up.

I was at a conference years ago and a group of us posed being arrested in a park. Then posted the picture online and said that we needed bail money. I think a lot of fruity alcohol drinks were involved. It was fun and some people believed it was real. About 2002 so before Facebook.

Good morning! I can so relate to the feeling unmoored with the big life change. As much as I longed for and looked forward to retirement, when it came it sent me on a roller coaster of feelings. At first it was sort of shocking that I didn't have to fly out of the house every morning at 5:30 am. Then we went to Europe and it was awesome that I didn't have any work things I had to think about for 3 whole weeks. The first time in my adult life! Then when we got home, I sort of felt unneeded and unvalued that nobody was relying on me. That lasted a few weeks and these last couple of weeks I feel like I have gotten into the groove. Now I am starting to think of things to engage in after hibernating from responsibilities. This big life change has been a lot like a grief journey.

Today we have nothing but the cable guy. We pay an outrageous amount to Cox cable plus all the Netflix, Hulu's, Paramount +. We tried to renegotiate a cheaper rate with them just for internet, but they were still very high. So after thirty years with them, we are changing to AT+T for internet and going straight streaming and possibly an antennae as some of our neighbors can capture local channels with them. I'm not sure how this will work out for me as I use TV as a diversion from many things, but I told Rog that whatever the end result is, I'll get used to it with time. And oh my gosh the amount of money we are saving monthly is insanity. We'll be traveling a lot more coming up, so why keep paying that big payment?

QoTD: No. I don't believe I have ever reached out. And the few I follow I am more a lurker than a participant.

Menu

B: hb egg and cottage cheese

L: leftovers from dinner last night.

D: Costco Lemon Chicken half with a parm crust. Roasted carrots

Glad to hear your settling into retirement. Let us know how the cable thing works out. I been thinking about dropping Xfinity for years but never pulled the trigger.

we haven't had cable in years. There are a LOT more non-cable channels than there used to be....especially now that everything is digital. It seems like every main channel has three or so sub-channels (for example, there are three of four PBS channels now), so we actually get quite a few channels!
