Thanks, Jim. I've spent the last bit researching this. I also learned about E bonds a bit along the way. As with anything related to the government, it looks like purchasing can be a chore. Definitely something to look at and decide on in the next month. I'll hold off on all the financial advisor-y questions. Appreciate you sharing - and educating.

Yeah, the passwords, etc. gave Marilyn fits at first.

The agenda does come out eventually, because there are a lot of different panels in different rooms, and participants have to decide which one they wanna attend. At least that's how it was pre Covid.
I think the clothes exchange was in one of the conf rooms and it was by size and category: shirts size xl in one corner, size XXL in another. I honestly don't know if they make you take back what is not taken.
Your best bet is to contact the organizers, because by now (less than a month away) they must have an idea what's gonna happen.

someone else asked about these things on the OH Facebook page recently. Kim said the schedule should be posted tomorrow. Also, they're not going to do the clothes exchange this year because of COVID.
UPDATE: I went back and checked the FB page. Actually, someone (not Kim) said "a rep" told her the schedule would be posted very soon, probably Wednesday (as in tomorrow). And yes - no clothing exchange this year.
Thanks, Trish. That saved me from carrying 50 pounds of clothes back and forth across the country.

Good Morning Menuers,
I loved my long weekend and felt I really deserved it. Did get to the beach and had a nice time and was able to get into my favorite Caribbean Restaurant for Shrimp and grits Saturday night so that was a happy surprise. We called around four and they were able to fit us in. I was shocked because it is such a nice place. Sunday we combed the beach for driftwood had breakfast and headed back home. The rest of the weekend was rainy and dreary so we did a lot of nothing. Saturday I blew off the annual end of the summer picnic and yesterday I had plans to picnic and was prepared but plans fell threw due to one of the twins having Covid. So sad that baby has to go through that. So we met up with friends and I was able to take the salad and dessert there so it wasn't hanging around the fridge.
QOTD: Nothing special I can think of but I am sure I do many things now that I didn't before due to TikToc

QOTD- I can't think of anything, it's too early.
Another day over 90 is expected today, I really almost never ready for fall but I am now.
My pathetic Ducks looked like a high school team playing against Georgia. After seeing that I don't hold out much hope for this season.
I'm getting a covid booster today for the new variant. My Mom's next door neighbor died of covid a couple of days ago. Both her and her husband got covid but she coughed so hard she actually broke a couple of her ribs. She was transported to the hospital and died that night. So this is real, I think that they were vaccinated but she had dementia so that may have complicated things. So many people are pretending that this is over, I really wi**** was.
The house is looking a little less like an episode of hoarders, but I still have a long ways to go. I don't ever want to move again.
The neighborhood has a lunch today so I will be going. I'm liking having nice neighbors that will take the time to talk to you whenever they see you.
Have a great day everyone!
