QOTD- In Portland where I was born it is the Rose Festival, complete with US Navy & Canadian ships tied up at the waterfront. As in the Navy comes up river to spawn. In the town my Mom now lives Sherwood there is the Robin Hood festival, small town (not so small anymore) parade and crowning of the Maid Marion. Yeah it's as stupid as it sounds. But it was fun to ride on the Fire Engine and throw candy to the kids. I was a volunteer firefighter for 11 years, I also went to High School there.
I think my roommate got everything out of the apartment late last night, nothing like waiting until the last minute. On Tuesday I took loads of stuff down the stairs and then into this house. Did I say I hate moving, I truly do. Now it is all the unpacking left.
I rearranged my office so I can see out the window, and open and close it easier, so I consider that a win. I still need to lower my desk, but will probably do that this weekend. It's Ikea and I just have to twist the legs, so I'll measure and mark them before I start so it will end up level.
The vertigo is still not totally gone, not fun but at least it is better.
My Dad died 15 years ago today, I can't believe it's been that long. If he was still here he would have turned 99 on 9/9.
I can't believe it's Thursday already. Update on the kitties the one I chose is a female and she is the boss and keeps the others in line, not sure about the other one but I'll know in a few weeks.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. It's a balmy 72 already this morning and heading to the high 89's or 90's. I have lots of running around today to get ready to leave for my Dad's in the morning, so I'll be out in it a lot. And probably cranky. As soon as I am done here, I am taking the brown dog out for his PT to be sure to get one set i/n today. Spoiled San Diegan's. Not a fan of heat and we had two wild fires near us yesterday. One was just four blocks from where the RV is stored. But San Diego Fire and Cal Fire are the boss and got them knocked down pretty fast.
I did pretty well on food yesterday, though I did add 6 tortilla chips with dinner, and 10 little meringue bites while watching tv.
QoTD: Our village has an Oktoberfest. Pre pandemic it used to be huge. It was an unwritten rule that you got your butt home from work early on Friday and parked on the street. And did not leave for the weekend. Most of the homes in my neighborhood have primarily street parking because garages are either tiny, or in the way back converted from coach houses. We have a two car garage that is, don't be shocked, converted into a bar. And basically a one car driveway. So you park and you don't move at least one of your vehicles because you won't get parking again until Sunday evening. That's why you keep your driveway open. So you or your neighbors can have a spot if needed. Also, we have Comic-con downtown. So the buses and trolleys are full of weirdly dressed people and almost any restaurant you walk into will have someone dressed up in Cosplay and it's a voyeuristic good time!
Jim -- Saw my first official Seal Team commercial last night! Bravo is back on 9/18. Hello Clay! ( I hope! I didn't see his specific face in the ad)
Menu today:
B: leftover chili relleno casserole
L: Costco pulled rotisserie chicken and pop chips
D: I'm trying a new recipe that is an egg and ham loaf that gets topped with tomatoes and then a cheese crumble topping that you broil. And a small salad to round things off.
Peace Everybody!

DS and I started watching The Boys on Amazon. Just starting the 3rd season. It is a great show with good drama, good characters, and a plot line that keeps moving. I have not seen Seal Team.

G'morning all!
QOTD: not that I can think of.
Accountability: key lime popcorn from TJ. Once again I succumbed. Internal dialogue at the store:
- you don't need that
- No worries, I won't touch it till Sat
- Do you remember what you did with pineapple chili popcorn?
- That was spicy, this is key lime, I have will power
- No you don't
- Watch me!
Narrator's voice : not only she didn't have the will power, she tore into the bag in the parking lot, and she finished the WHOLE bag by lunch time, for a whopping 750 cals and 110 carbs.
My meals yesterday :
- Coffee
- Mex cauli rice + ground turkey
- See accountability
- Epic chicken + parm cheese
- E: none, when I screw up, I make sure I screw up big.
Happy almost Fri-yay!
