What an accomplishment! How many more hikes do you have to complete your list? Pictures are so beautiful, it certainly looks scenic.

Good morning everyone! I haven't posted in a while and need to. Work has been crazy. My assistant quit in March, so I have been doing all the things.

I visited my WLS doctor to check in. My weight was up 4 lbs from last year. I saw on my chart that it says class 1 obesity. That was hard to see. I'm almost 6 years out and 26 lbs up from my lowest weight. I need to break up with wine and cheese. I see her again the end of October for yearly labs. I am determined to have my weight down.

I know I need to up my exercise. It would help with my anxiety and depression. It's been 2 years since we have been empty nesters and I'm still struggling with it. I just miss my kids being home and all the things.

Food plan for today

protein shake with cold brew

chicken sausage with zuchinni

Some sort of grilled fish

not sure what else

have a great day everyone

Its great to see you, Maddie! We have been empty nesters for 7 days now. Definitely an adjustment.

Great to see you! I am with you on the wine and cheese. Breaking up is so hard to do when you are in love, though... :(

Good morning. Bacon, yum.

Lion King was a huge hit with the girls. They sat there enthralled the whole show and didn't get into one fight during the program and only one minor battle at intermission. For those that haven't been there, raising girls 2 years apart essentially means refereeing 70% of the time. Here's hoping they grow up into besties. Anyway, we followed the play with Old Spaghetti Factory. Perfect for the kids. My son in law was horrified by the pricing. LOL. He kept saying $21.99 for a plate of pasta and a meat ball??? But their browned butter pasta with mizithra cheese did not disappoint. I did have some of that, one meatball and one bite of spumoni ice cream. I also passed on the bread, crappy wine and the absolutely horrific version of an Old Fashioned that my husband ordered. So happy to have dodged those calories. I definitely was on the high end of my typical carb consumption this weekend, so my plan is to watch carbs and eat as lean as I can this week.

My sum total of exercise continues to be brown dog physical therapy. We are up to twelve laps around the house, twice a day. I went to his vet last week and got him some puppy valium because he is losing his mind having to stay penned up in a three foot circle. I don't blame him. So now he gets a little happy pill when we need to leave the house for more than an hour. I think the neighbors will be appreciative.

QoTD: It's probably me. My cousin one time said to me "Man, you got a lot of rules you live by". And I don't think it was a compliment. In the cuteness department though, black dog comes to our room every morning exactly at 6. Starts to whimper and whine, then jumps on the bed and lays down completely on Roger. Paws on his chest, back toes on his knees, all 70 pounds of him, starts licking Roger in the face and thumping me with his tail. Clearly, he'd like us to get up and start his day.

Menu

B: hb egg and cottage cheese

L: leftover pollo asada and tomatoes

D: buttermilk brined chicken from TJ's, adding a parm crust, broccolini, and a bite of Roger's sweet potato

Peace Everybody!

Just want to say that 9 googled that pasta dish and it does sound...decadent! And wonderful. Glad you enjoyed the outing!

I used to hostess at the The Old Spaghetti Factory in Boston when I was in my early 20s. It was a fun place and the food was great (it may have contributed to my need for WLS)!

I believe I could eat that browned butter pasta all day everyday! You are right, I would have to quit that job just because of it!
