Good Morning All,

Yesterday I had my follow-up mammogram for the calcifications seen on the initial annual mammogram several weeks ago. The calcifications can be an early indicator of breast cancer so they have recommended a needle biopsy. So I am waiting for the breast imaging center to get insurance approval and order from PCP. I am hoping to get it done on Friday or early next week. Crossing my fingers it comes out ok. I have to admit when they were talking about the needle biopsy post care my first thought was about how this would interfere with my workouts. Crazy, right?

QOTD: I would agree with free travel expenses from plane tickets, car rental, hotel costs....that would be so awesome. Second I would also say free Amazon.

Accountability: Too much Chick Boom Pop kettle corn (again).

B: triple zero greek yogurt with collagen, keto granola, blueberries, cold brew with half n half

L: summer salad with chicken, poppy seed dressing

S: protein frosty

D: Asian chicken salad with sesame ginger dressing

S: 4 squares sf chocolate, 100 cal bag popcorn (no chick boom pop!!)

E: 60 min hot yoga

Happy Hump Day!

The biopsies aren't that bad, but it is never fun. I've been through the breast cancer rodeo twice and I would not recommend it. Last time was nothing, just a suspicious calcification but I had surgery anyway. After the first time with the lumpectomy and radiation my breasts were about 1/2 a cup size different, so I had breast reduction surgery and now they are both the same size. I wouldn't do that again, it was the most painful surgery I've ever had, and I don't have sensation in most of one breast. But on the positive side my bras actually fit now.

I will be thinking good thoughts for you.

That made me laugh to think you are worried about your workouts! I hope all goes well and as soon as possible so you can put it behind you.

Sorry you have to have a biopsy but I hope they can get you in soon so you're not having to wait.

Mornin' All!

well the guys *****placed my windshield this morning were amazingly speedy! (a pebble hit it on my last trip to the Chicago 'burbs a week or two ago. The crack wasn't too big, but they do "grow" over time - figured I'd just get it replaced now since I'll have to replace it at some point anyway). I'd taken my I-pass down yesterday to prep for them coming (it's like an EZ pass for the Illinois toll roads, since I go down there several times a year), and I figured I'd have to get new adhesive thingies to hang it back up. But no...they took the adhesives off the old windshield, put them on the new one - and then found my I-pass in my car's console and hung it back up for me! What a pleasant surprise!

I may end up going back down there this weekend, but we'll see. A friend of mine who lives in the northern suburbs called me last night very distraught because one of her co-workers was found dead in his apt on Monday - a murder-suicide. He was the murderer - killed his live-in girlfriend and then shot himself. She and the guy were pretty chummy, so she was absolutely shocked by this. We'll see how she's doing by the weekend, but she was very upset when she called me last night. Could not stop crying - I think more out of shock than anything else.

we have an arborist coming this afternoon to look at one of our trees. Other than that, not much else going on, although I should probably get out and get some exercise again today. Biking most likely.

QOTD: food and vet bills crossed my mind (esp after spending $3000 on our one cat this past couple of weeks!), but I think I'll go with travel, too. I love traveling and it's not cheap - so that. Then I'd do it several times a year!

B: protein oatmeal topped with plain skyr and apple compote. Coffee with half & half.

MS: protein shake

L: a cup of chicken salad (chicken, walnuts, celery, diced apple, cherries, light mayo + plain skyr. And curry powder)

AS: lime Greek yogurt topped with raspberries

D: the now-usual salad with power greens, chicken breast, 1/2 diced peach, and light dressing

this dietitian I follow (I get her weekly e-newsletter) said people should strive for eating 30 different plant-based foods a week - this includes things like grains, nuts, and herbs in addition to fruits and vegetables. I think I usually get around 20 over the course of a week, but I'm going to try to hit 30 this week. Sounds like a good idea - but not easy!
