They think I have a genetic disposition to metabolize opioids waaaaay faster than normal. My grandpa had a hard time with painkillers doing the same thing. At one point he had to stop as well(he had broken his neck 2 times and had numerous surgeries on it). He had so much loritabs left after he died the place we took them to to dispose of was literally shocked. Everyone came over to our line.
I'm so glad you have meds that work!
Mel
I believe that. I seem to require more meds than my husband, and they never seem to knock me out or make me dizzy like they do for him. The dosage I have now is effective. I just don't like taking them around the clock, cause I wake up in the middle of the night to take them. I have had patches, but I am allergic to the glue.
I break my pills in half and take them more often. That seams to work better for me. Plus adding a good, strong muscle relaxant to take together with the opiates seams synergistically better. The combo: opiates+ muscle relaxant works better than taking opiates by themselves and muscle relaxants by themselves.
I take Chlorzoxazone (1/2 pill) with narco 3-4 x a day during the day, and Tizanidine before bed.

Good morning, everybody!
Great job on the 15 pounds, Melody!
In about an hour, Marilyn and my youngest are leaving for college. Of course he hasn't packed yet. Of course he said that he was tired and went to bed without packing yesterday. But she has most of the non-clothes, non-computer, non-metaverse things packed.
My older son will still be home until Saturday (and still battling the cold he picked up on the way home from Iceland.
But Saturday morning, they will leave for Colorado.
And then, for the first time since early April of 1998, we won't have any kids living in the house.
I knew that this was coming, but I still don't feel ready. How did you guys deal with the adjustment?
QOTD: When I was in Florida two winters ago,I really started loving fish tacos. Last week, at the meet, I got fajitas and ate them for two meals. Of course I didn't remember cutlery so had to use a curled up coffee cup lid to feed myself.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich
Lunch: Steak
Dinner: soup and salad.
Have a great day, all!

This year my oldest is a senior in high school. I am not sure I am ready for him to leave the house for college in 1 year. Luckily, he plans to go to a college that is about 45 minutes away so he will be close.

Empty nesting is a huge adjustment! I cried each time one left for days. The last little bugger had me crying for a few years, but we know that's a different story. It took me forever to feel comfy just stopping with Rog for a drink and a quick meal without checking on the status of the kids. Who wants to meet us and who is where and what do I need to bring home. But eventually, it is AWESOME to have the house look exactly like you left it when you return home. To find the snack you are craving uneaten. And when I cooked dinner, for a while it would last for days and days until I finally learned how to downscale. No more stinky towels in the boys room. No more laundry left unattended for days in the washing machine. The dishwasher only gets run every couple of days most of the time. And when I pick up the phone and talk to my kids, the sun is always shining in my little heart. Of course, one kid only ever wants to talk via text, but that is ok with me mostly. He is funny as hell and entertains me endlessly with his texts. I'm guaranteed to get to talk to him directly only three times a year. My birthday, Mother's Day and our annual Thanksgiving get away. But if I decide to pop over to Vegas, I have two gents to squire me around town and take me to the most fun bars and yummiest restaurants. My daughter has become my very best friend and most trusted girl advisor. After a few years of adjustment, I love empty nesting!
Boys never wanna talk
We have the same issue with DS, rarely gets on the phone or responds to texts, but in person he is so thoughtful and eloquent.
