What's on your Friday Eve (Thursday) menu, everyone?

Good morning! Yay for Thursday with Friday in sight!!

Well, I think I am back to my usual early, no alarm clock needed waking up, so that's. a step in the right direction; still going to sleep earlier than usual so getting more rest than usual but trying to listen to my body so that's good! I did skip exercise yesterday and I feel better this morning so clearly I was just overdoing it -- so today only a nice elliptical session for me.

QOTD - do you still have any VHS tapes? I was looking for something in the basement and realized that I do have a few, one is the recording a friend made when I was on Jeopardy and the others are some British shows that were only available on VHS at the time....I do not have a VHS player of any kind though, lol.

today's plan is

coffee plus half and half x2

PB English muffin

left over taco fixings

jalapeno sausage

ratio yogurt

25 minute elliptical session (walking the Topkapi Palace grounds, will be curious how this one goes, the palace and grounds were gorgeous when I was in Turkey years ago, I wonder if they will stop for roasted chestnuts like we did, lol, I love a good street food cart).

Have a great day everyone!

You were on Jeopardy? This is so cool. How did you do and when was it. I would love to hear more about it.

It was a really cool experience and it took most of 2012; you take an online test in Jan/Feb and if you do well enough, you get invited to an in person interview/competition with a bunch of others and then they select from all those in person activities. My episode aired in Dec 12 so it was a process for sure. At the time, they told us that about 30K people take the test every year, about 10K get invited to the in person sessions and about 4-500 compete each year. I think I am eligible to take the test again now that the hosts have changed.

Good morning!

So glad to hear you're getting back in the swing of things. It's so easy to overdo it when you're not feeling well. Your palace gardens sound beautiful!

Managed to get down everything on the menu yesterday but still needed three shakes to make goal. With me being back to work and tomorrow being my first office day I'm realizing just how much of a challenge this will be. Always did love a challenge. Yesterday I had to sign up for the work retreat in September. It's going to be just over two hours from here and I'm a bit surprised that we're pulling this off given the expense it will entail. It's exciting to me that we'll get to spend time as a larger team in a non-work environment. Will see how it goes.

Also glad the headache I've been nursing the last few days seems to be on the mend. Took my sleep meds last night for the first time in almost a month and it did seem to help.

QOTD - nope! I do have some DVDs left, though no traditional DVD player these days. Amazing how quickly technology changes these days. I remember when a DVD was over $100.

Menu

More tea, all the supplements, enough shakes to hit 80g of protein depending on what I can eat

Laughing cow cheese wedge to try it

Rest of the tuna

An egg

Nonfat Greek yogurt

Maybe some cottage cheese

Will try adding a quarter ounce to a portion size and see how that goes today. There are two recipes I want to make this weekend for something different. The ricotta bake and a bariatric friendly "crack chicken".

Have a great day!

I went back to a full time travel schedule (3-4 weeks a month) about a month after surgery; it's not as hard as you think it will be, even moving though the different progressions. I did always keep a ready supply of individual protein powders for a pinch, that could blend with water or milk.

Thanks Jen!

That's a lot of travel! I bet your processes helped. Was yours continuous travel, or did you hotel in one place for periods?

Good idea on the protein powders. I'll have to see which ones mix best and bring some along. For our retreat they're providing all meals but I don't have access to the menu. I see "boxed lunch " for at least part of it. Pretty good on what I can and can't eat for now even if that means me picking apart sandwiches. That always makes an impression! Appreciate you!

Schedule your water. Don't let it get away from you. Above all else hydration is key. I make myself drink 20 oz of water before my first anything in the morning even coffee. Then I won't let myself eat a meal before I put in 20 more oz. You'll find your balance I am sure but prioritize it.

This! So much, this. Thank you for the reminder. This is exactly what just became a challenge. I do aspire to something similar to your start of the day. I'm currently able to sip between 10-15 ounces of water per hour if I'm diligent with it. Have only this week discovered what happens when you take out up to 8 hours of sipping time.

Water is definitely a priority.

Good morning, Everybody!

Jen, I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. My son seems to have turned the corner as well. He is still coughing and croupy, but was downstairs talking to us last night and may still visit his grandparents for a week before he heads back to school.

Yesterday was a very humpy hump day, so I am feeling better this morning. A full but not crazy day at work and nothing else. Tomorrow looks like a fairly light day. I am doing my bloodwork for my 4th surgiversary appointment Friday morning.

For the time being, my normal will be to work in the office on Tuesday and Thursday, so I'm commuting today.

I wish that they would post a schedule for the OH conference. I know that its not school and attendance is not mandatory, but I am still curious about how full the days are. Of course there is always the possibility that a certain bad influence will want to skip the programs and hang out at the pool with her.

QOTD: I would guess that we have some videos of the kids when they were babies taken on the home camcorder. We still have the camcorder - no idea when that was last used.

Breakfast: protein bar

Lunch: chicken parm

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!
