I use ground chicken or turkey then added spices that are used to make sausage to substitute for sausage in recipes. this saves a lot of calories and you still have the sausage taste.

That's my guardrail with Italian sausage; if you can't see the fennel, it's not worth it!

Good morning ~ I'm happy to hear your day got better yesterday, Jen. I had Invisalign - one of the best things I ever did. Compliance is a pain but they are worth it. I hope yours is quick! Mine was not, but I had a lot to correct. Hope your appointment goes well. Today at work we are having a pot luck for July birthday peeps and hopefully the day will fly. These are good days in my unit. It's when the fussier people take it down a notch and enjoy themselves so everyone gets to relax. Otherwise, it's a decent calendar. I'm prepping for upcoming projects and meetings over the next few weeks.

Verity is a bit in your face scandalous so far... Anyone read this?

QOTD - Last night I made stuffed peppers with ground beef, they were delish. Rob and my kiddo gave it thumbs up and even kissed the cook! I use ground beef in ricotta bake too. And Chili, yum.

Accountability - great

b- coffee, egg bites

l- 'Healthy burrito bowl spread' is the pot luck theme. I will have turkey taco meat (my dish), black beans, shredded lettuce and pico.

D-either leftover stuffed peppers or breakfast for dinner

e - day 7 of July IFIT challenge - DONE - I refused to entertain excuses today and kept repeating - JUST DO IT

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning,

We had a wonderful meal with the kids last night and a great time. I maintained my pre-determined indulgences and walked away full and happy and a bit less costly as I didn't order an entrée. I had a couple bites of my daughter and my husbands steaks and 2 bites of mac and cheese (with bacon lardons!!!!) and 2 bites of crispy brussel sprouts. Perfect amount. We all shared a nice bottle of wine, and they had dessert.

Today I have to pull together a menu for a gathering tonight of 10 people to celebrate a friends retirement. We are going to order from a local Italian place, and I am already scoping out the menu to allow for good choices for me. I also have to run around and get a few snacks and bottled water. I might stop at the dollar store and get some balloons. Really should be pretty easy and it's a very low key group. Looking forward to that.

QoTD: stuffed bell peppers. I use black beans instead of rice to keep them low carb, and on the other end of the spectrum, Shepard's Pie. My comfort food. And Swedish meatballs which I serve on Edamame noodles.

Menu:

B: leftover chicken or pork

L: more leftovers

D: Spinach salad, one stuffed pasta shell and a meatball. That's the plan at least!

Peace Everybody. Have a great day!
