Whoo hoo, it's no longer Monday! What's on your Tuesday plan?
on 7/19/22 4:18 am
Good morning everyone! I was relieved that my funk yesterday actually turned out to be due to work annoyance vs just general blues so that made the rest of the day better. It was still the mondayist monday in a long time though.
Nothing big on my agenda today except I have an orthodontics appt at the end of the day; I had an implant put in a few years ago and my teeth have shifted so I'm going to do Invisalign. This is just the fitting and start so it will be about a month before I actually start the treatments. I'm hoping because I'm acting fast it won't need to be a long drawn out process.
I changed the order of my exercise yesterday and did my handstand practice after boxing/crunches with the medicine ball and in my second set of attempts (I usually do 3 sets of 3); I felt right on my head....straight down, the video looked like the example of what not to do! I'm fine, not even sore but I only did the two sets yesterday. Correct order of operations is key, apparently, lol.
qotd - What do you make with ground meat (beef/chicken) that's not a burger, a taco or meatloaf? I have no answer for this one, so looking for ideas.
today's plan is
coffee plus half and half X2
Protein Oatmeal
Cheese stick and cashews
tbd but something with ground beef
chobani yogurt
Accountability for yesterday - I had a chocolate cupcake stuffed with marshmallow cream; it wasn't even that good and left me feeling yucky all evening. Won't do that again for a while,I am sure.
Elliptical only for exercise unless I add a stretching series.
Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

Glad you're feeling better today!
Still working hard on getting enough fluids. Have been lightheaded the last couple of days but made 48 ounces yesterday. It also seems to have helped that my last protein serving was mixed with reduced sodium bone broth. Maybe I'm missing some salt.
QOTD - last thing I made was ground beef and cabbage. Reminded me a bit of when I was a kid and we had boiled cabbage and vinegar for dinner.
Today's menu is just fluids. I'm up to about 60g of protein a day. Not too bad for four days out.
Hope everyone has a good day. Cheers.

I had a lot of lightheadedness after too.just make sure your slow to get up when you're feeling so. I had a really bad fall after passing out from getting up to quick and it helped my back be bungled up even more.
You're doing great!

Hi Melody,
So sorry to hear about your fall. Thats got to be terrifying. I hope you don't have too many lingering effects.
If you saw me getting up right now it would probably be worth a laugh. I'm sleeping in the recliner in the living room. And I'm slowly levering myself off the edge of the chair to balance my weight over my legs before standing up with my hand on the wall. Have been using my legs a ton to keep from doing too much bending. Haven't passed out yet, fortunately. Appreciate the tip very much. Cheers.

I would prioritize the water over the protein give the light headedness. Do a couple of thigh clenches before you stand up, it will help with the blood flow.

Hi Jen,
Thanks for the feedback. That seems to be a theme. I'm focusing on the water and bone broth with protein since that's easy to get down. The hard one is the multi 4 in 1 since it's just so thick. I'm doing a whole lot of little exercises while sitting but will admit...naps are happening.
Thigh clenches are a good idea, thanks! Cheers.

Take your blood pressure sitting down and then as soon as you stand up. Orthostatic blood pressure is common after quick weight loss and can result in serious falls, I learned to pump my legs before standing up, Drink more fluids and eat more salt to stay hydrated. Your body will adjust.

Thanks! Given some of the comments here I'm now thinking I should have a cuff. But I don't. Something I'll have to put on my list. And thank you, the salt does seem to be helping. Not sure if I'm violating the diet with bone broth rather than broth but it makes a difference.
Might be interesting since I used to have low BP. Right at surgery it was raised for me but in the normal category. After surgery it was what they considered to be low to the point they sent the nurse in to take it again because they don't like the top number to be under 100. Sounds like if my body reverts to the old normal it will mean a few challenges. Cheers.

Wow! Overall, it sounds like you are doing great. Is the 48 ounces just clear liquids (not adding the protein drinks in)? If just clear liquids you are meeting your initial goals for fluid intake. Monitor your urine for darkness or using the bathroom less frequently, these are indications of dehydration. If you were diabetic before your body may be adjusting to the new eating patterns causing some hypoglycemia. If you had high blood pressure, are you on any high blood pressure medications? What is your blood pressures now? Make changes in position slowly to allow your body to adjust.
