I love public displays. I dont like the noise the noise and danger of home fireworks

Good morning and Happy Fourth of July!. Back in Congress,AZ for my Dad's procedure tomorrow. I've got a quiche in the oven for our breakfast and as soon as I take it out, I've got a big pork butt going in to slow roast all day. We'll be doing not much all day. It's really hot and dry here.

QoTD: love them and I love the BOOM most. But my older wiser self is beginning to believe they are just so bad for our environment. And pets. And people who suffer from PTSS or anxiety issues. I know. I'm no fun. Sort of like paper towels. Did you hear CA just passed a new law banning single use plastic wraps. So I am thinking Saran Wrap is going bye bye here. I'm ok with that, I've been working hard and not using baggies and the such for a couple years now. Leave a better planet and all that. Back to the QoTD though, did you all see the really cool drone "fireworks" some cities are doing this year?

Menu today so far is

B. Sausage quiche

L. Maybe nothing more than a little beef jerky

D. Really looking forward to this! Roasted pork, watermelon/feta and mint salad and a little potato salad

hoping for lots of leftovers

Peace Everybody. Be safe, wear your sunscreen and enjoy your day!

I reuse baggies until they're practically falling apart. We just wash or rinse them out. My old office (from 20+ years ago) used to pick on my incessantly about it. When I got married, they threw a wedding shower for me. In addition to a gift, the guests each gave me a box of Ziplock bags, so I'd quit reusing them. HA! I still had some left years later - we're talking maybe 15 years!

QOTD- I hate fireworks except the big displays. I hate the noise and it kicks my PTSD into high gear. Adrenaline overload and not in a good way.

Working today so hopefully I get a couple of jobs done today, at least there won't be any distractions. Most everyone is off line, since I've been struggling to get hours I won't take today off.

Have a great day everyone!

Afternoon all! I'm all settled in after returning from vacation. We got home overnight Saturday into Sunday. Sunday we just relaxed, did laundry. We picked the dog up from the kennel and she's sick. I'm sure they fed her something other than the food we brought for her. She only ever gets sick when her diet changes-- and more of our food came back than it should of. I will not board with them again.

I was up and did my work out today. Today ended the Memorial Day to Independence Day run streak. I missed about 5 or 6 days in total- but I plan to keep going. I joined a challenge thru work that should keep it interesting. I'm so glad I ironed my work clothes before I left for vacation-- best idea ever! No plans rest of the day.

qotd- I don't mind pubic display fireworks-- but won't seek them out either. Neighborhood ones annoy me. Being in Mexico last week saved us from the ruckus leading up to today.

Exercise 2 mile run- 2 mile walk, sit-ups

I am "ok" and thank you for thinking of me. Just feeling kind of withdrawn I guess.

the EGD went great. No issues. He said it was likely gastritis about a month or 6 weeks ago. I had a period of 20 or so days of diarrhea and stomach issues then. It was also helped out by the ever changing pain medications they have messed with.

The 20+ day or runs may also have been norovirus. We are prone to that.

I get that once in a while. RNY -low acid and open way for any virus - bacteria to get into small intestines'. Normal people acid in stomach - plus the time the "food- drink" stays in the stomach often can eradicate small qty of virus or bacteria. We- not so much.

One way I know I have norovirus is less constipation, nasty gas, and losing weight when I don't actively work on that. I can have norovirus for 2-4 weeks.

Not the best way to lose weight, but it's a way. The only thing I need to be really diligent with when dealing with that is electrolytes. I need to take a lot of sodium and some potassium when I deal with that.
