What's on you Wednesday Menu?
MY SIL is head of elections in my hometown. People will come in to jus****ch what they are doing to prepare the mail ballots because of their paranoia. She is the most ethical person I have ever met and know she would never do anything against the system.

99.9% of people don't do anything nefarious. But the way we've been talking about it since 2020 you'd think it's rampant all over the country.

This is such a difficult time, for sure. The city I moved from had irregularities in voting, including when they went through the early ballots. The clerk sent out two different times to the observers, one time (the correct time) to one party's observers and then sent a much later time (by about 8 hours) to the other party. When someone caught this, she suspended counting for 15 minutes and then restarted without notifying those affected by the incorrect time and so on. this went on throughout the day. The mayor was also under review for accepting private funds to place ballot boxes around the town which is against the law in our state (or at least that count).

I have Gentleman in Moscow, but I put it on hold after several attempts during the past few weeks - I was just too distracted and you have to pay attention. I remember Jen saying how lovely it was - I need to try again. Thanks for the reminder!

Yay for Wednesday!
Yesterday was my final class for the lecture and group work for project management. I think I have 3 more classes learning project management software, then I will have my Tuesday evenings back. We did a presentation of the group work, which went well for our group. Even with the frustrations of the class and with the instructor I did learn the basics of project management. I left work early to get my workout in. It was beautiful out so I went for a walk in a local area with hills, mountain biking and hiking trails. I saw a snake at the beginning of my walk, which freaked me out. I almost turned around and left since snakes are one of my biggest fears. I think it was a garden snake (not a rattle snake which are also around) but it was big and long. Of course I was hyper-vigilant the rest of the walk. Luckily I didn't see any other snakes but it did take some of the pleasure out of the experience. Maybe next time I will take a dog with me.
QOTD: Lianne Moriatry's Apples Never Fall. My mom recommended it since her book club recently read it, said it was good. A woman vanishes, her husband is the prime suspect but a secret from the past is uncovered...da da duh.

That snake would have increased my speed tenfold. My tracker would have been off the charts. I have never seen a snake while running but I had a mouse and bunny actually run across my shoes after I startled them. My biggest fear is startling a skunk. We have a lot in our neighborhood.

The snake did increase my speed (although only a faster walk), it was a single trek path in many parts with somewhat high grass on both sides. The weather was mid-70s which is perfect for them to want the sun. I have always thought the area looked like it would have lots of snakes, however every other time I have gone it was too cold for the snakes to be out sunning themselves. I was so happy when the path widened so I had a clear view of at least 3 feet on either side of me. I love to see wild life just not critters that can harm me. I bet the mouse and bunny startled you as much as you startled them!

I've come across so many snakes hiking mostly Rattle and they freak me out. I don't like hiking alone anymore as fear sucks the joy out of my hike. Mountain lions and bears are a big thing here also.
