What's on your Saturday menu?

Good very early morning everyone.

My sleep, or lack there of, is just so so crappy. I had a bad bout of acid reflux and just such uncomfortable burning last night. Thankfully I had decided not to do the Mexican casserole...that would've been even more uncomfortable.

I contacted the NP at my bariatric surgeon's office through email. He is going to set up an EGD and send some meds in Monday. I had emailed him rather late so he couldn't do it yesterday, as it was he wrote back after 5. Glad to have at least got it going. Waiting for the referral crap was frustrating.

Nothing planned today. We may run to a certain grocery store but that's a big if. I might clean a little on the house...vacuum and the bathroom.

QOTD: what is something you'd recommend at this moment? Can be a book, music, tv show or whatever.

For me it's be a new album but the band Ghost, Impera.

S: raw zucchini, SF jello and ???

TV - I am enjoying ObiWan on Disney and the new season of Stranger Things. Next week I am looking forward to the final season of Peaky Blinders.

Reading - I've just gotten back into the Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher and they are fun; I'm listening to This Is Not a Book About Benedict Cumberbatch which is interesting, it's about obsession/passions/hobbies.

Movies - the last one I saw was Dr. Strange and it was good but scary.

Music - Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit is who I'm seeing next week at Wolf Trap, he's one of my favorites; I'm also listening to a lot of Band of Heathens right now.

Podcasts - I'm very behind on my podcasts but am listening to Stolen: Surviving Saint Michaels. The host, Connie Walker, makes some of the most interesting podcasts about the First Nations communities and what they've been through. I think this is her 4th podcast.

Mornin' All!

our state natural resources agency is accepting electronics this morning for discard (waiving the usual fee), so we'll be loading up the car. We'll also go pick up the box springs and head board for the bed my mom gave us - sometime today or tomorrow. We'll have to rent a U-Haul van or pick up since we both have Honda Civics. Otherwise, no plans for the weekend.

QOTD: I'll have to come back to this - nothing coming to mind at the moment

B: protein pancakes topped with plain skyr and strawberry/rhubarb compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: tuna/chickpea salad on 35-calorie bread

AS: protein muffin

D: not sure yet....but not Caprese salad! (finished the mozzarella balls last night). Maybe bean curry (??)

I know I'm replying to myself but I just heard from the NP and he sent in the prescriptions just a bit ago and set up an appointment with the surgeon. They should call to set up the EGD Monday. Nice to have an office make the effort, especially when they don't have to.

I think the book idea is good. An interesting plot of some book work can somehow distract your emotions. I understand that without medication nothing will help, but you need to look for some ways to improve your condition and mood. Personally, free writing samples free examples help me improve my mood because I can see new interesting ideas for my stories. Also, by watching different authors, I see how their style of writing changes. It is possible to find several authors who write interestingly and it will be interesting to follow their stories.
