Good morning!

It is exactly 4.9 miles to the dermatologist and back on foot. I wavered back and forth about walking. Then made a deal with myself. I would walk there, and if I was miserable, I would Uber home. As expected, the hill was tough, especially on the way back, but I did it and I am proud of myself. I survived the derm too with just two freezings and one biopsy, waiting for results on that one. I stayed on track with food and increased my water in take. So a good Monday, all in all. Today, will be much better. I am taking a friend to experience an Asian reflexology foot massage this morning, then I have a facial tonight. All me day. Yay.

QoTD: Well, since I am going to Paris in about a month, the Louvre is at the top of my list for now. I understand Sofia, Bulgaria has some wonderful ones too and we shall explore those. However, I may be the shallow one in the group, but I can only handle 3 or so hours at a time in a museum. I too read every plaque, and I get cross eyed with a sore back from standing. Then I get cranky and that is usually followed by hangry. My husband and I have a goal of hitting every presidential museum on our travels. We've been to two so far. Very close to two others, but Covid had other plans for us. But I think the Regan Library is next on our list. Nixon was fascinating and I was surprised how little I knew about the good stuff he did (very pro woman) and I loved how they did not shy away from his faults and failures. We learned a ton that day.

Menu:

B: slice of low carb meatloaf with a cottage cheese topper

L: I think I am eating out with my girlfriend and I think we are going Mediterranean, so there should be great picks for me.

D: stuffed bell peppers from Costco, amped up with sauce, provolone and mozz.

Peace Everybody!

I only had one day at the British museum so I was there when they opened the doors and kicked out when they closed. This is why I went alone, lol

I have never thought about going to the presidential museum or libraries. That would be fascinating. Poor Nixon, all anyone ever remembers about him is Watergate. However, I think that he was actually a good president before that scandal.

my husband is a huge fan of presidential museums, too. He's been to more than I have, but I've been to JKF, LBJ, FDR, Gerald Ford, Rutherford B Hayes - I think that might be it. Enjoyed them all!

Hi Everyone,

I am back from vacation that I took with DD last week. We had a wonderful time with our activities and time together. Wishing I was still on vacation as we were having so much fun we didn't want it to end yet. I will post some pictures on Friday of our trip. Unfortunately, we were limited on what we could do at Mount Rainier National Park since it snowed on us, thus they closed the road to the higher parts of the mountain, we did get some hiking in. My weight has been unchanged for 3 weeks before our trip so I decided to deviate from my stricter diet during the vacation. While I didn't totally go crazy I definitely didn't track my intake. I will find out if there was any damage to the scale on this coming Saturday (crossing my fingers its not too bad). I will say that my eating was nothing compared to what I would have done pre-surgery. I am back to my routine. I did note that the more I ate off my plan the more head hunger I encountered during the trip and once I got home an restarted my eating plan. I am happy to be eating "clean" again.

QOTD: I do like small local museums that provide interesting local history, but would love to see some of the world famous paintings from the great artists like Picasso, etc. The Smithsonian's in DC would also be interesting. I also become fatigued at all the reading of signs. I would prefer to have a guided tour with highlights. When we went to Italy in 2004, I hired a guide for our small group of family members. It was great since the guide could tailor the tour to our likes, truncate areas if needed. I have also done pre-recorded audio tours which are great.
