This worked for me: I was pregnant with DD. I told DH I no longer want to spend my weekends cleaning the house. He said but I don't like strangers in our home. I said OK, it's on you because I don't wanna do it. He tried it for a couple of weeks and then gave up. That was 23 yrs ago and he never complained about us having a cleaning crew.
Try it, might work.

I think Rob has a issue with our pets, we still have 3 and the strangers in our house thing. He's home ALL THE TIME so I get it but hate spending weekends cleaning. I will try that!!

Money well spent. We do the day to day stuff and she does the "deep" cleaning. I've had her for 7 years now.

Mornin' All!

it's actually pretty warm out now (for Wisconsin), but temps are going to drop this afternoon. Weekend will be freezing - but then it'll be back up in the 30s again next week. YAY! I'm happy as long as the temp is above 20 F.

I have one of my film discussion groups today at 12:30. Only three of us are OK with going to the restaurant (even though we have the private dining room reserved). The rest want to Zoom in. I'm not sure why the group leader doesn't just put the whole thing on Zoom. Having over half the group Zooming in and the other three eating at the restaurant seems bizarre to me. I'm the leader of my other film group (the documentary film group), and if more than one person wants to join the meeting on Zoom, I just do the whole thing on Zoom. I think this particular leader just likes going out to lunch. Well, I do too - but these "hybrid" meetings just seem weird to me. Anyway, film for today's discussion is "Minari". Loved it. Can't wait to hear the discussion.

if MIL is feeling OK this afternoon (she said she was anxious and hadn't slept well yesterday when I asked), I'll go to her apt and set up her WiFi and Roku. Other than that, nothing going on today - other than I need to get some exercise since I took a rest day yesterday. Maybe a youtube cardio thing and resistance training (i.e., bands). Nothing planned for the weekend other than a tetanus shot tomorrow morning at Walgreens. I've had a bad reaction to my last two, so I'm a little apprehensive - but at least I can stay home all weekend if need be - and at least I only have to get these things every ten years.

QOTD: the only place we have carpeting is the finished part of the basement, but honestly, we rarely vacuum down there. The cats just go down there to use their litter boxes (in the unfinished part), so that carpeting doesn't really accumulate cat hair. And since we really don't use the basement, the carpeting doesn't get very dirty (it's Berber carpeting). Other than the bathrooms and kitchen, the whole house is hardwood, so we just use a broom. Kitchen and bathrooms have tile - we regularly mop three or four times a year unless they're dirty - then we'll mop up the dirt when it's noticed. We also put a finisher on the kitchen floor twice a year (it has commercial-grade vinyl tile, which looks like linoleum). The bathrooms have ceramic tile, so no need for finishers.

B: skyr with fruit compote, coffee with half & half

MS: some kind of protein shake concoction (our lunch probably won't arrive until close to 1:00, so I may throw some frozen strawberries in the shake - for the fiber)

L: I'm thinking of ordering the Korean bowl which features marinated flank steak, veggies, and an egg over rice. I'll eat the protein and veggies, and maybe just a half cup tops of the rice.

AS: protein muffin or a light Greek yogurt

D: the ramen soup I made the other day was so successful that I think I'll do a pho tonight. I'm putting marinated baked tofu and lots of veggies in it (well, as well as the rice noodles). I'll limit the number of noodles in my bowl.

have a great day, all!

I didn't take any pictures this week, but here's a meme I saw on FB and shared. Hilarious. And so "me"...

Good morning! I survived the week so far and I know I can survive this day! It has been a week. I mean, no manifesto's or anything close to that, but mind exhausting. My back is a bit better, but still a difficult time dressing and I have to sit down to get socks and shoes on. One of my NSV's is I regularly just stand in my closet and put my shoes and socks on. Tights too -- love that!

I have been eating pretty well this week, except for that cookie, but I have definitely been having a glass of wine each night and the scale is showing it. Need to rein that in for pete's sake.

QoTD: Hmmmmm, generally I look askance at the floor and then mutter to my husband that the floors are looking a bit rough and then when I get home the next day they have been vacuumed and washed. The floors are all porcelain tile, so they just take a good scrub brush and wipe down with a dry towel. He does a great job. I have no idea if this method will still work for me once I am home full time. Gosh I hope so!

Happy Birthday Melody! I hope you see some happiness in your day. I am wishing you lots of glass half full or even better, totally full moments today.

Menu:

B: hb egg, cottage cheese

L: left over half pork chop and 2 oz bread cheese

D: Excited about this! Salted tri tip, salad and few bites of the hubs baked potato.

I only have boring photos on my phone this week so I shall spare you.

Peace Everybody!
