Good morning! yesterday was a tough one at work, expecting the same for today. Also it expecting to fly by like yesterday, so I've got that going for me. I stayed on track food wise. Added a glass of wine. And my reward was a roaring return of my gastritis. So that will keep me from indulging for a week or so. Which is good timing. I've got my semi annual weigh in with the actual doc next week. As of today, I am spot on where I was 6 months ago, so I think that will please her. Other than my regular work load today, we have to rearrange the office. Again. We just have to squeeze in another desk so we can hire one more person. Yay for us to need another person! Ugh for the effort it will take. LOL.

Bought my conference ticket this morning. Did not buy one for the hubs. Expect to see him hanging around the pool when it's not meal times!

QoTD: No wall paper. But I do have a tiny powder room that is already a statement room with a chandelier in it, and I often think about getting that high end "press and peel" paper for at least one of the walls. Most people's closets are bigger than this potty station.

Menu:

B: 1/2 half the portion of left over stuffed bell pepper with some cottage cheese. Man this was filling and kept me going for a long while yesterday!

L: left over pork and little potatoes. The end of the pork that didn't get dropped into the freezer and I'm not sorry to see it go. So good, but I am over pork for a bit.

D: TBD. I defrosted nothing and not feeling the urge to cook. There is a new crispy fried chicken place open in the village and I might need a chicken tender.

Peace Everybody!

I watched the Golden Corral video, it was bonkers. Fortunately, that group doesn?t move very well or people could have really been hurt.

Have you noticed that the cauliflower crust has the same (or more) calories as the standard crust?? I found a thin crust at the grocery store that is only 120 calories for a third of the crust (standard 10-12 inch crust) before adding ingredients. I thought that was pretty low for a pizza crust. I still haven't tried my low carb wraps yet.

Yes. I do not think there is a trade off when it comes to cauliflower pizza made from some willie nellie manufacturer. However I have not looked at the Macros on the Real good Food one. I saw a frozen Mushroom Artichoke and truffle one in the store yesterday. I didn't have time to look but it is on my radar.

Good morning ~ Sorry you are sick again, glad you are negative. I am still waiting for my results, still feel the same. Not really working from home - just checking in - I'm tired. Watched a lot of TV and ate soup and crackers all day. Today sounds about the same.

I tried Wordle yesterday, it was pretty cool. It took all tries, but I was happy that I got it at all.

QOTD - Growing up we had wallpaper EVERYWHERE. I loved the blue/purple floral wallpaper I had in my room. I like wallpaper, especially after watching 'And just like that' on that very subject. Done right, it's gorgeous.

No exercise, just breathing

food - more soup and crackers probably.

Have a great day!

Julia, I was having a lot of issues with sinuses, including losing my voice. I found I was very sensitive to dairy proteins. Specially whey. If I now have anything with whey, i.e. milk, cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, or anything with whey proteins, I would get sinuses sniffles and I would lose my voice.

The other major protein in dairy - casein, I can get a lot of mucus, and I can also lose my voice, but not always. I often ignored that, because I love cheese. I gave up other dairy, but aged cheese, - I just couldn't. I gave I up for 2.5 years (all dairy) then I noticed I could introduce aged cheese once in a while. Unfortunately, once in a while, means every day, a few times a day.

I'm recovering from covid, that manifested itself as a really bad upper respiratory infection, with a lot of mucus. But my gut tolerated cheese, not meat. Unfortunately that made the congestion at least 2 x a bad. I had to give up the cheese at least for now.

When I got very sensitive to dairy - like whey, I could get reaction - I often lost my voice- as a first symptoms that what I ate had whey. I could start losing my voice within 2-3 hours after a food with whey. Including good quality butter, like Kerry Gold. I had to give up butter also, but I tolerated Ghee rather well.

BTW: casein in cheese is addictive. Seriously. It can bind to opiates receptors and give us calmness and very light high. I LOVE cheese.

Cheese may be mildly addictive due to its protein casein, which your body breaks down into casomorphins. These compounds attach to dopamine receptors in your brain, possibly triggering cravings for similar foods. However, cheese is nothing like addictive drugs and isn't dangerous in any way

Right. Not dangerous, unless you are getting a extra mucus production in your sinuses, or try to stick to a diet.

On keto - eating cheese, I never could lose weight unless I really really limit my cheese drastically. The idea "on keto you can eat as much as you want the foods that are fat and proteins", doesn't' apply to me.

to make ghee they heat the butter and then skim off all the milk solids - leaving just the fat. So it doesn't surprise me that you're able to tolerate that...

I buy it, or I make my own from unsalted butter. It's not only skimming from the top, but the milk solids often end up in the bottom of the pan. It's supper easy to make that. To make sure I don't have a lot of milk solids in my ghee, I strain it 2 x using a good quality paper coffee filter.
