What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good morning! Had a nice night at the campground, but it was really chilly and Dad gets cold easily these days, so we stayed inside our little condo on wheels. The chili and fresh cornbread was perfect for the evening. I did add a glass of wine. Super little pouch day yesterday, so I didn't even feel guilty about the wine. Today is much the same.
QoTD: Honestly, now that the kids are grown up and we are financially stable, yes. All the suggested and required maintenance gets done and we have them professionally detailed once a year to keep them in best shape. Waxed and polished. When we were raising kids and choosing between oil changes and groceries for the week, that was a whole different story.
Menu:
B: chorizo beans and cottage cheese
L: chicken artichoke stew
D: either the insides of a cheeseburger from the grill, or maui ribs with sweet onions and rice. We might have company, and depending on which night they show, that's the cheeseburger night.
S: probably a glass of wine. I mean, I'm camping.

Good morning, everybody!
How does vacarestaurant.com look for our Thursday night excursion? Let me know what you think. Costa Mesa also seems to have every steakhouse available as well. I will make reservation as our numbers firm up and we get closer.
I got my liver ultrasound back and it was fine. That close to the holidays, I was somewhat concerned that they would say "Sir, your organs are filled with Veuve." The doctor said to work on losing and re-do my blood work in six months.
That's great, except that losing seems to what elevates our liver enzymes in the first place. It seems like once I am referred to a specialist, I stick with that specialist no matter what. So, guess I will see her once a year to chat about enzymes.
In any case, its freezing here. There is ice on all of the windows. I don't plan on leaving the house except for one gym trip. Food is things that are ready in the house. Fortunately, it is only one day plunge and the temps will be more normal over the weekend.
The ladies made it safely to Vegas and claim to have taken it easy last night.
QOTD: Yes. My five year loan paid off last May and when I brought the car in for service during June they hit me with a $1,600 bill. So essentially it wasn't paid off when i I thought it was. But November was just an oil change, so I'm feeling better. With COVID and being in Florida last year I haven't drove much, but I'm hoping to get 4 more years out of it.
Breakfast: salmon cream cheese bagel
lunch: Brisket
Dinner: TBD, but it won't involve venturing into the cold
Have a great day, all!

That makes sense. I will probably reserve hotel this weekend.

My liver numbers always jump when I lose weight. They level out again. I budget $1000 a year for maintenance and repairs. My car is three years old and a three year warranty is about $3000. I don't buy the warranty put figure I might have to spend that.
So far I had a switch malfunction and that was about $700 to fix. The more bells and whistles on the car, the more chance one of them will not work. I lucked out really well on a 2011 car that I paid off quickly and never needed more than the normal maintenance, tires, etc. The Ford Fusion may not end up being so cheap.
For years, I had leases and just got rid of them at the three year mark when things seem to start happening.
