Thank you so much. I do not feel like it sometime but I just jump back into action. I am hoping to shed at least 5 more by doing the pre surgery diet. Just hoping I can keep it up for a least 4 more days without falling off the wagon. The hardest is not using creamer in my coffee and I know its the one thing that keeps my weight up.

What's the pre surgery diet? They had me on liquid diet the weekend before surgery. Anything else?

It sounds a lot like that old Slimfast diet. Do you remember? 2 shakes a day and a sensible dinner!
Great job on having lost already 4 lbs.

So glad you had a fantastic first day of work.
I'm planning on venturing out today to grab coffee at Starbucks and maybe play some cards.

hi all
power officially came back on at 10 pm- generator we turned on at 10 am. so at least I was glamping - had hot coffee, a hot shower, and could use the microwave. also was happy I prepped that food made it really easy.
QOTD: i was 118 at my lowest... I'm up about 60 ish pounds from that. I beat myself up for a very long time about this and there was a lot of tears and anxiety but now am more at peace with my body and will plan to lose 30 this year. for me- I don't need to be 118 at 5-6 and having a muscular frame. I would like to be closer to 150 when I'm done so that is my plan. I also plan for skin surgery next year after I get off the last 30 since I have a lot of skin issues and having that removed will put me closer to my ideal weight for me.
food plan today:
b: protein french toast/coffee
s:
l: chicken soup or shiritaki pasta with some protein in it
d: turkey pot pie
s: ?
I think my skin removal that I had to have done when I had my Hernia was a huge game changer for me. Without the skin removal I do not think I would have been able to keep up the exercise like I do. I just wish I had the time to do my butt and thighs, but it will have to wait till I retire I guess.

My butt has gotten soooo flat, I want to remove skin from pannus, tighten thighs, inject fat into butt so that I actually have some roundness! Maybe remove excess arm skin.

Good morning! Glad the first day went well; that they are testing to try to keep people safe and that you had less than 30 minutes combined commute...you will have so much free time.
QJB, your "covid caught me" vs " caught covid" really strikes me -- that whole discourse (not your comment per se) is giving me flashbacks to the 80s and the patient blaming with AIDS. I do equate anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers with people who weren't practicing safe sex once they knew that was the recommendation and there's an element of karma at play there but it's still a virus and viruses are opportunistic and people can do everything right and get it and do everything wrong and not get it. As my teenage niece would say "I'm very triggered" in this area, lol.
I read a really interesting thread from a nurse over the holiday weekend weighing in on the commentary that's popped up about not treating the unvaxxed and it was very interesting ((s)he was saying nope, that is to not an option we want to be taking).
I also think the commentary triggers me a bit because of the whole medical community assuming every single health could have been solved by losing weight (that sure didn't work for my mono, lol). There's also a very fascinating thread going around in twitter about how obesity is so much more than "bad lifestyle choices". Will be following that research for sure!
QOTD - 10 lbs; I maintained very well for the first year of covid but got sloppy the second so I'm working on that this year! I started with dry January on Sunday (couldn't start Saturday because I had a glass of wine left, lol) so I'll go to Feb 2.
I have pilates this morning, a day that's not over burdened with meetings at work and MELT just sent me a note about a new "wind down" session that I might try before bed, so shaping up to be a good Tuesday for me!
Menu today:
coffee plus half and half X 3
eggnog yogurt
cream of chicken soup
Chicken green chili left overs
I received my package of Unjury from the December giveaway so I may make the bonjoy (protein pudding/icecream) and see how that is.
Have a terrific (taco) Tuesday everyone!
