What's on your Monday Menu?
Hi All!
I woke up kinda late this morning (for me, anyway) and then headed out the door for an 8:00 water aerobics class. Need to start working off those Christmas calories.... Unfortunately, we're supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow, so I might not be able to go to my senior strength-training class - darn it! But we'll see. Sometimes these storms end up going north or south of here, and we get little to no snow. Fingers crossed that happens so I'll have a good exercise week (I can do it at home, of course - but I tend to do better when I'm in a class).
this afternoon three of us from one of my film discussion groups are getting together to watch this month's movie. I'm taking the remaining Christmas cheesecake over there with me in hopes that most of it will be gone after that. I really don't need this thing sitting in my refrigerator. There's leftover lasagna in there as well, but I'm fine with DH eating that. I had a small piece last night for dinner, and it wasn't that great. Of course, it might have been a lot better if I'd have nuked it first, but I'm not going to push that envelope. I'll just remember how it tasted when cold. That is, marginal - and not worth the calories.
Christmas eating volume-wise was OK. But calorie-wise it was not. Lasagna, wine, cheesecake, and other sweet goodies have a lot of calories. So I had a couple of bad days. I have not stepped on the scale yet but will on Wednesday when things have probably settled a bit (besides, Wed is the day I record my weight in myfitnesspal, even though I step on the scale most days)
QOTD: not really. I did have a magic kit when I was a kid, though - so I probably played with it. I also learned this card trick when I was in elementary school that i used to show people - but it's been about a thousand years.
B: plain skyr with cranberry sauce, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake and some Crunchmaster crackers
L: I think I'll have some leftover salad that my sister made for Christmas dinner (it has swiss cheese chunks on it, so that means protein, too)
AS: piece of cheesecake
D: Not lasagna. I really need to start cooking again, though - otherwise I'm going to run out of ideas. Maybe a chickpea/miso sandwich or a Jimmy Deans Delights breakfast sandwich (egg whites, cheese, turkey sausage, English muffin). Those are pretty filling and not too bad calorie-wise
have a great day, everyone!

Good morning ~ I've always wanted to do high tea! Someday I will. It was a lovely holiday weekend but I am so glad is over! What a huge build up then, back to reality. I always want books for Christmas and Rob did not disappoint. More to add to my collections of my favorite classics, celebrity cookbooks and even a Serial Killer cookbook detailing their last meals, lol. A fun read. We then went to my sisters for a little bit - it was a really nice time. I stayed away from all sweets - and they where everywhere. It wasn't a white knuckle deal - I'm shuddering at the thought of sweets lately, even my coffee right now. Could it be that my brain, eyes and stomach are all on the same page?? However long its last, I will be grateful. Salty carby foods are another story and I had plenty of those.
Looking forward to the new year - I am resetting. Starting Saturday 1/1/22, I am doing CAMAW and will workout all 31 days of January. Challenge accepted! Be a machine - just do it.
Ghost town at work - lots of vacations and quarantining going on. It's everywhere ya'll - stay safe!
B- coffee, 1/2 bagel and cream cheese
l- Roasted red pepper tomato soup with protein cheese crackers
d - swordfish and salad
s-jerky, whisps
Have a great day

Thanks. We've both been tested. No Covid here, just pink eye...
