What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning, feeling very jealous of your unemployment right about now... I am feeling very emotionally overwhelmed right now. I don't even have a particularly busy work week - I just feel... all the things.
QOTD: My family did a "big" 4th of July picnic this year. It was 20 people - but that's been it, even pre-pandemic we hadn't had any big family events recently. I guess we are in an in-between time, no one old enough to be marrying or passing away (obviously you don't have to be old to pass away, but you get what I mean).
My overwhelm for the week has translated into not great prep for food - which is just going to continue to overwhelm me, but I don't have the energy to do anything about it, so that's awesome.
8:30 - coffee, eggs
11:30 - yogurt, chia seeds, raspberries
2:30 - protein shake, carrots
6 - chick pea curry
8:30 - RXbar

I can't even begin to tell you how many times today already I have been gripped with a panic that I haven't checked my email... but then I remember that there is no email to check and there is absolutely no reason to feel overwhelmed. It's going to take a minute to get used to this.
Good Monday Morning all!
JB-Welcome to the world of unemployment albeit temporarily.
I'm glad the weekend is over. My big term paper is officially handed in. I spent six hours yesterday after procrastinating Saturday away. I did get together with a friend Saturday night. I am glad I did see my friend for a mental break from worrying about my paper. Just three more days until I'm done with the semester! Yay!
QOTD: My family got together over the summer for an outdoor celebration of a zoom wedding. I didn't attend since it was too much walking for me, being mobility limited.
Accountability: bought a bag of sf Russell stover chocolate. Killed that thing in three days. Convinced myself that it wasn't that bad for me at 60 calories a piece. Boo to me but trying not to beat myself up too bad for it.
B: Dannon Light and Fit Cherry Yogurt, banana, TJ cold brew coffee, sf vanilla, stevia, unsweetened almond milk
L: 1/2 ham sandwich on 35 cal bread with light Mayo
D: ??? Maybe light Caesar salad.
Have a great start to the week all!

Congrats on turning in your paper! That must feel fantastic.
Thanks. It does feel great and a weight off my shoulders. I was preoccupied with it for a month prior. The paper was my main concern that I forgot the biggest thing that happened this weekend. I got rear ended at a stoplight Saturday night on my way home. Luckily, I'm alright but my car is not. The trunk and bumper have decent damage and the person who hit me was a 17 year old kid. I went and filed an accident report today and the Chicago police were attentive for once.

My niece's wedding in October, 2o19 was a wonderful family get together with people from all over the country. We had outdoor parties on the 4th of July and Labor Day this year. Thanksgiving was the first indoor party. The next morning I got a call that my brother in law had tested positive. Then his daughter, who is due in April, also tested positive. My brother and sister both tested positive the next day. They were all pretty sick.
I had planned to have Christmas Eve but cancelled that. The sister who just over COVID will host instead, but I am staying away.

Good morning QJB and menu folks.
Great weekend, it seemed to fly by. NYS has mandated masks inside any location that doesn't already have a vaccination policy, the company I work for has a vaccination policy in place, I decided to start wearing a mask. My elderly parents will arrive for the Holidays on 12/18 and I want to protect them as much as possible.
QOTD - Thanksgiving at my MIL's. BIL and SIL have both had covid , are not vaccinated, I wore a mask.
