Yup, they have been dating for a while now, but the last few months have been more serious. So young, so sweet!

Mernin' errybody!

QOTD - I used to. BACK in the day, R&R used to be a thing, and it was quite a ****show. Lots of "my surgery is better than yours and let me tell you why..." Now, I only come here, and talk to you peeps.

Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee and water

Lunch - Someone brought tacos and I have a bean, and papas rancheras. I may save for snack tho!

Dinner - No plans. Hubs has a chicken he wants me to roast (spatch**** all fancy) with veggies, etc. I may have my tacos then.

Food has been weird lately. The nausea from the meds messes everything up so I am trying to fit food in where I can honestly. I eat at night, and then switch my fasting to different hours which is okay. It's supposed to taper off in a few weeks, at which time I anticipate the dosage going up, but hopefully the side effects won't come back.

I hope you all have a great day!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

This is normally the only thread that anyone posts to. I do respond to other posts, if they interest me. The Revision board is one that I always check.

I have watched people get revisions since I started reading this site in 2003. Their story is always the same. They had surgery, lost about 100 pounds, and then regained most or all of their weight in spite of "not eating much".

Some surgeons sell them revisions, letting them believe that they are getting a second chance and will lose all the weight again and not regain it.

They have a two week liquid fast and then two weeks of not being able to eat after the surgery. They lose about 20 pounds due to not eating. Then they heal up, go back to "not eating much" and never lose another ounce. In fact the 20 pounds comes back after a short time.

I do respond to ones considering revision with the sad fact that they are eating too much and there is no surgery that will stop that. They really don't like that answer.

I know I can tell myself I am not eating much, but if I get out of control, the scale lets me know it. The posters on the revision board always post about their first month, but never come back. I feel in most cases that surgeons are just taking their money and giving them empty promises.

I do not believe that they can lose the regain unless they learn to eat less.

Perhaps the people posting on the revision board don't come back because they are not being supported in their efforts. Their journey is not your journey, thus no need to be harsh in your response to those seeking revision or those who have undergone revision. WLS is only a tool and does not guarantee weight loss, but support from those on the board is why we each come here.

If I were about to undergo a painful and expensive procedure with no record of it ever helping anyone, I would consider it support to be told the truth.

If I had had a revision that did not help because I did not change my eating habits, then I would consider it support to be told that in order to lose weight, I would need to eat less.

I hope I can save someone from a bad experience or from them failing like they failed the revision. The only way to lose weight after the once in a lifetime easy weight loss in the first years after weight loss surgery is by eating less than we burn.

I am sorry. I did not mean to offend you. The way you wrote your post on this thread made it sound like you were garaging the posters on the revision thread. However I did read what you wrote in that thread and it wasn't harsh. I was concerned that people are seeking help only to be told the answer harshly.

It is easy to misunderstand what people post on the internet. I feel bad when people are given what I see as false hope and then made to believe that they failed their revision.

It is just the sad fact that the less you weigh, the less calories you need to maintain that weight. There is no magic surgery to changes that. After the first years and the effect of the surgery wears off, the only way to not gain weight is to eat less calories.
