19 years. Seams like a lifetime ago

It's been so long since I've been here. This year I celebrated 19 years post op. I've been watching my 600lb life and it got me to thinking about my journey. I wonder how my old friends on here are doing. If anyone is around please let me know how you are. I'm still at goal, things are second nature to me. Like reading labels etc. I was 302 pre-op. I got to 108 within a year. I had to gain, I was malnourished. I got to a comfortable weight. I gained due to medications about 10 years out. I'm at 113lbs now. I'm not sure how to answer people when they ask if I'ddo the rny again. I have several health issues that I cannot take nsaids for. Years ago I was put on very strong pain meds. I had to then deal with addiction to them. I'm off them now for the last 2 years. See why I'm not sure if I would do it again? surgery meant no needed nsaids which led to narcotics which led to addiction. Years ago food was my addiction. I hope everyone is doing well.

RNY on 01/01/14

(((())))) love love love and can totally relate .

Most ?normal? people can?t believe I can party like I do and still totally survive and even thrive .

It?s because I want 2 contribute and I don?t think being honest detracts from that .

There have always been judgmental stoopid dogmatic peeple around .

look at a hundred years ago . It's kind of extremely cool that so many successful people tried 2 make idealistic communities thrive in th Midwest .

Women voted there for a presidential election first .... fifty years before they were " allowed " the vote . Women wore PANTS ( and went to jail for it ) . Extremely cool people lived and worked and thrived there .

Welcome back.

Congratulations on your successes.

I started here at the end of 2002 as Tek but you may have already been fading.

I can't handle 600 pound life, though my spouse loves it. For me, it's 'misery porn.' I started as large or larger than most of them and I can't help but personalize their experiences. :shiver:

Good Luck,

Tek

Same here! I am 15 yrs post-op. I recently logged in and none of the friends I had made here were still active. I very much wonder how they are doing in their journey. I am so sorry to hear of your struggles.. my main one is still absorption but I knew I would be trading one problem for others. Hugs to you..
