hi almost forgot to post!
I'm on the egg train but it's more like i bought two packs of these bob evans egg wraps and need to eat them all- I ate the last spinach one this morning with egg whites and a low cal pita. then i have 3 more cheese egg ones left. I'm planning on having 1 with the leftover tuna for one thing, then other than that, no clue. I also have the lightlife hot dog weiners maybe on one of those? i don't know-
QOTD: I would rather have 3 bad ones and one good.
I have to lead a demo at 10 and I'm debating doing video but i really don't see the point since i will be sharing my screen so they would only see me for 2 min... that would require brushing hair, putting on appropriate clothing, makeup, etc. seems to be too much.
food:
egg wraps plus whatever else.
coffee
water
supposed to do gym lifting today

Wow, that QOTD is really interesting. I definitely have had some hell years, I know we all have, and that what I consider a hell year may have been just a normal year for someone else....and people have sustained through things I wouldn't be able to. I also have had some AMAZING years! I try to keep in mind that all the things we experience make us who we are, and I like who I am as a whole so it all works out. The timing of this question is great though, even though I know the new year is the new year, I still think of fall as a new year and an opportunity to assess and reflect and make changes. Mostly because of the school year thing but also because I have always looked forward to fall and winter. So, that's a long answer. My short answer is I'd power through the bad years to get through to the good.
Glad you are taking a mental health day QJB, I hope you really do get a break and to do something fun!
I tried the bulletproof coffee for the first time today; I am surprised by how tasty it was and also how full. It's been a long time since just a cup of coffee made me feel like I ate too much!
today's menu is
bullet proof coffee
scrambled eggs with laughing cow spicy cheese
omelette with cheddar
we're getting a bit of a cool front and rain today so I think I will change my exercise plan to a nice long walk
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone! Friday is on the horizon.

Mornin' All!
the hour with the personal trainer went well yesterday. He put me on one of those InBody scales. I was shocked at my fat percentage after gaining 15 lbs since the DEXAscan I had three years ago - 30% vs the 22% in 2018. Egad. I've gained weight, so I knew it would be up, but that seems like a big jump. Although I don't know how accurate the InBody scales are - I know DEXA is one of the more accurate ways to measure body fat (although nothing is 100% accurate). Regardless, I'm going to deal with it. I also discovered that although my arms and torso are above average muscle-wise, my legs are below! I figured with all the biking, that would be my most muscular area. Nope. But then, any one exercise is not going to work every muscle, and I've been skipping lower body strength training A LOT in the last couple of years, figuring I get enough with the biking. SO....he showed me a several lower body exercises to do that don't bother my bum right hip. I go back in c. six weeks to be weighed on this thing again to see how I've progressed. At least this will motivate me to get back to twice-a-week strength-training again!
JB - I'm glad to hear you're still in the running. I may have mentioned this before, but that often happened when we were hiring in the summer. Often a key person was on vacation, which held everything up for a week or two. Fingers crossed you'll get that job!
I have a dentist appt later this morning, and I'm going to bike over there. Retirement party late this afternoon - I'm going to try not to eat - too many "eating events" the last couple of weeks, with more to come next week. UGH. I feel like I'm trying to navigate a mine field.
QOTD: I'll take the meh years. I'm good at creating my own fun. And bad years are just that - bad. Don't want to deal with one.
B: mango- and cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: leftover pulled pork
AS: L&F yogurt with raspberries. Or maybe a protein muffin or something else with a lot of fiber so I can make it through that retirement party!!
D: leftover vegetable curry
have a great day, everyone!
I'd love to try one of those in body scales. Very curious about my fat percentage.
