That sounds like a good choice! I am also concerned with "dumping". I am only 4 weeks post op so I am not really eating any baked goods right now but I would still like to try some things out for the family.

I have read a lot of posts that warn of to much sugar causing dumping and in turn dumping makes you want to die! :)

So that being said Whey Low won't cause that?

It could it just depends if you dum*****t.

But I suggest do not do anything outside your surgeons suggestions when it comes to meal plans until your at least 9 months to a year out. You really need to use this time to maximize the amount of weight you can loose. After that grace period it gets a lot harder. You don't want to look back at these next 9 months and say I wish I would have.

It has never caused me to dump. I don't dump on a small amount of sugar. It takes a lot. Last time it happened was a McDonald's hot fudge sundae and I threw most of it away, but still dumped.

I got some Truvia Brown Sugar and Granulated Sugar for baking. I like Truvia but I will say the brown sugar is almost too sweet. You'll just have to figure out what works for you. The Truvia ones are 75% less calories, but definitely not the same proportions.

I use swerve - a bit spendy, but no aftertaste for me

Another vote for swerve. I bake a lot (honestly, I mostly just make full sugar stuff now, as I'm 3.5 years out and I don't have problems with eating ALL THE THINGS when I bake). But, if I want to have a full size piece of something (like with a quick cheese cake, or something) I will use swerve because the volume and consistency is the most like sugar and it doesn't have associated GI issues.

Everyone provided so much information on sweeteners, I may have to make a larger space in my pantry for them! For those who do bake, is an artificial sweetener aftertaste something that occurs normally, or is it individual tastes?
