Mornin' All!

I was planning to go to a water fitness class this morning, and then yoga, but I'm just not feeling it at the moment (at least not the water fitness class part). I think I'll do weights and the stationary bike instead. And yoga. I think it's all the changing/showering before & after/etc involved in water fitness classes. Just don't want to deal with it this morning. So I'll head to the gym in awhile and do the weights/cardio. My film discussion group meets over lunch at 12:30 - then I'll run by the hospital to sit with a friend whose husband will be in surgery - then I have a meditation/sound bath class at 5:45 that I signed up for awhile ago (where the person plays those Tibetan bowls while the class meditates - it's wonderful!)

accountability was great yesterday - 1500 kcal and an hour of Zumba, but my weight hasn't budged since last week. UGH! I hate this!! Maybe I should just focus on eating at the lower end of my range and exercising regularly, and any weight loss will be an added benefit (??). I'm feeling pretty good right now otherwise...I'd just prefer to be back in a normal BMI range rather than six pounds overweight. Comments from medical professionals such as "you're fine" and "aren't we all? (i.e., a few pounds overweight)" aren't particularly helpful.

QOTD: I occasionally drop by another bariatric forum that shall remain nameless (a few years ago I was more or less a regular on it - but never as much as I am on OH). But as some of you might remember, a lot of their vets left after a big kerfuffle a couple of years ago, and there aren't many left - although there are more on there now than there were after the big exodus. But there are too many newbies on there posting inaccurate info for the vets to keep up with. It can be exhausting at times. But I drop in sometimes for a couple of days or weeks - and then disappear again. I've always preferred OH. Any bad info that's posted on OH usually gets corrected right away, and I have a lot of friends here.

4 years 8 months out:

B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and homemade blueberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: Fit Frappe

L: I'll be at the restaurant. I'll probably get the turkey/bacon/avocado sandwich (and bring half of it home) and get the raw veggies with dill dip as my side

AS: I'll probably be at the hospital. I doubt I'll need a snack, but I'll have a protein bar with me just in case

D: 2 Costco chicken skewers with ranch/garlic Greek yogurt dip

have a great day, everyone!

that may be part of it (water and constipation). I typically drink 8-10 cups a day and occasionally get more than that, although I know I need to get more than that CONSISTENTLY.

also, I started with the weights again about five or six weeks ago (prior to that, I was just doing cardio). I know it's typical to gain two or three pounds after starting a weight training program, but after a few weeks, your weight stabilizes or starts dropping. I never gained an ounce after starting up with weights again, so maybe that's part of it, too (i.e., I might have actually been down a couple of pounds if not for the weight training). However, I know that strength training increases one's metabolism, so I'm keeping up with it. In the long run, it should make it easier to control my weight (as long as my eating remains in check, that is...)

yes the positive thing is that it ups the ability for you to eat more. That can be good and bad. bad in my case cause my macros were all messed up and I kept overeating causing gain.

it wasn't until late last year I finally started getting a balance...

I could never navigate myself around that "forum that shall not be named", anyway. Not to mention the drama...

Good morning menu friends ! Miss Lily and I have our first 3.8 miles in and will do another mile later. Had an appointment with my new rheumatologist yesterday. She's younger than my last one and I really like her. She told me I was a model patient with all my exercise and credited the exercise with keeping me nearly pain free with very severe rheumatoid arthritis. The shoulder pain I've been having with heavy lifting is not a rotator cuff issue but instead RA intake main shoulder joint. She said if it becomes worse she could do a cortisone injection but at this point that injection sounds more painful than the shoulder pain! Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 120.6. QOTD this is the only forum for me. Here's the food plan for today B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 4 oz chicken salad D 4 oz pork tenderloin. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone!

Sorry to hear about your RA acting up. My symptoms went away for a few months, but they are back now that it is cold. I need to move somewhere tropical--care to join me?

Right there with you. I feel like I haven't been warm since September. It definitely makes the RA pain worse but I'd rather have it be RA than a torn rotator cuff which I was afraid of. Not really wanting any surgery right now!

Hello!

QOTD: this is the one and only place I regularly follow. Although I stopped posted posting per the new program I am on, I am still here every day keeping up with all your adventures.

I am still having success with the new program, slowly dropping weight. The no rules rules is not as easy as it sounds after 1000+ days of continuous tracking on MFP
