What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?

That's some serious sloth right there. I have had weekends like that... But eat once a decade? Hell no.
Mornin' All!
busy day today - I'm leaving in about 45 minutes to go visit my ward. The hospice workers will be there as well. Her caretaker thinks they might discharge her from hospice today since she's doing so well. She's been on it four times but keeps bouncing back (she's 92 years old). That happened with my father as well. During his final illness, they told us if he was anyone else, they'd assume it was the end, but with this guy - who knows. He'd come back from the edge before, so.. Anyway, same with this woman. She's got multiple health issues but obviously is in no hurry to leave us!!
after that, I have to go back to the sleep lab because this "activity watch" they're having me wear for two weeks seems to have died. I assume I'll get a new one - or they'll recharge the battery on this one (or whatever it needs). I've already got eight days under my belt - hopefully once I'm back in business they'll let me just pick up where I left off. Although if the data can't be recovered, I'm assuming I'll have to start back from the beginning. Boo. Although it's not hard or anything - but just something that's taking up space in my mind - I was looking forward for the study to be over. But... Well, we'll see.
after that I have Mah Jong all afternoon, then a quick dinner before Zumba class.
Accountability wasn't great yesterday. I did fine up until late afternoon. I knew I had that meeting (complete with a chili dinner) coming up, and I was already famished. So I did something i haven't done since before surgery - I popped 1/2 C of popcorn kernels in an air popper (I'm surprised they still popped after all this time), sprayed them with butter-flavored cooking spray so the salt would stick (well, it SORT OF does), and ate it. Then I had some yogurt. I was stuffed when I got to the meeting, but I had a bowl of chili anyway. And a bunch of raw vegetables (latter was OK - but as full as I was, did I really need that? Or the chili?). So anyway, I was way over on calories. As in 300 kcal over. UGH! And I have meals out tomorrow and Thursday, so I'd planned to really cut back on the other days. But...what's done is done. I'll do better today.
QOTD: I've tried to chew gum from time to time to keep my mouth busy, but I'm just not a gum chewer. I sometimes use sugar free breath mints for that purpose, but then half a box of SF breath mints does have calories (not that I always eat that many, but it happens). I need to give gum another try.
4 years 8 months out:
B: plain Greek yogurt with diced half mango, coffee with half & half
MS: Fit Frappe
L: two Costco chicken skewers with ranch/garlic Greek yogurt, maybe a small salad with light dressing
AS: at Mah Jong. I'll take a protein bar with me just in case (sometimes this one woman brings unhealthy snacks, so if I end up eating anything, I'd rather do the protein bar)
D: whipped cottage cheese with raspberries
ex: Zumba
have a great day, everyone!
Ok so what do you mean by whipped cottage cheese???

it's really a "chocolate mousse" recipe that I saw on Pinterest awhile back. You whip cottage cheese, vanilla protein powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, artificial sweetener, and enough unsweetened nut milk (or any kind of liquid would do, I suppose) in a blender....until it's sort of a mousse consistency (the woman who posted the recipe on Pinterest said she gets better results with a food processor - it whips up better - but digging my food processor out is PITA. My blender is always on the counter - and it works well enough for me!
btw - I add the nut milk little by little - until it gets going OK in the blender AND until I get the right consistency. Otherwise, you risk ending up with thick chocolate milk!
Very interesting- thx!

I made something really similar when I was newly post op and used my NutriBullet. It was good--I'd forgotten about that!
hi all- I didn't do support group or gym after work. it has been raining since sunday evening and luckily isn't flooding the house. so I vegged out a little.
QOTD: I have SF gum and mints but I tend to go to the mints over the gum. I think it irritates me a bit more than the mints.
food plan today
coffee
water
coffee
cauli pancakes
tuna/mushrooms
not sure what else.
QOTD: No gum for me. I just don't like it!
But you're forcing me to think ahead into today's menus....which I hadn't done much of at all, as of yet.
B: protein shake
L: Salad from Costco, 1 tb Olive Garden Italian dressing (I can't eat the whole thing but it's decent without their dressing)
D: Maybe salmon. Hubby is bringing home some from Costco and I like to make it in my grill pan. There will be leftovers for tomorrow too! Searching my brain right now for some kind of veggie - most likely I'll sauté up some shredded cabbage and season it with a bit of soy sauce, ginger, and stevia. And maybe a little of a sweet potato, which is my favorite starch.
Snacks: Fruit. Greek yogurt. That's about it.
Hubby leaves tomorrow before daylight to drive to NC to help his mom and stepdad with several dr appointments and getting a plumbing repair in their house. He was planning to be gone 6 days, but as it turns out his dad is in need of some support as well...in Arizona. So he's likely to be gone closer to 2 weeks to tend to both parents. His dad has gone from being a "Billy Sunday" style Navy Senior Chief to being a *****cat as he nears 90 years old. But he's alone out there and we do worry about him, as he's had a couple of issues in the last week or so. I think just having company to look forward to, a dinner out at the casino, and some encouragement will be a help.
So that will leave me home alone with a broken foot. My neighbors are watching out for me in case we need snow cleared. I'm technically not driving but can cheat just a bit and imagine I will....just to our local grocery store and the like. LOL - what that really means is I can goof around on line, read a few books, and knit a little bit!
Best to all of you!

Do you have any grocery delivery services nearby? I am in a pretty big city so we have lots of options and I have recently been experimenting with a few different ones--Walmart, Target, Aldi, Peapod... That might be a good way to buy a few more days of of your foot!
I can very likely get grocery delivery, yes! I have not needed it in the past and am so enamored with grocery pickup that I still just can't get over it! I love the options and have said for ages that traditional grocery shopping just required us to touch every single item too many times!
Into the cart
Out of the cart
Picking up the bag
Bag into car
Bag out of car
Out of bag and put away
I mean, multiply that by "x" number of items, right???? CRAZY!
