What's on your Wednesday (New Years Day!) Menu, RNYers?esday
Mornin' All!
thank God I am down 0.8 lbs since yesterday - but still feeling bloated and waterlogged. UGH! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning (for reflux) but I'm going to mention this. I THINK I'm just a mega-sodium-sensitive water retainer, but someone on here once suggested that I might want to mention it to my PCP in case it's something more worrisome - like a kidney or heart issue - so I will. So tired of this. I did have deli turkey (2 oz) on my salad at lunch yesterday (plus dressing) and pulled pork (2 oz) for dinner, and they do both have a lot of sodium, so it could just be that, but it'd be good to know for sure. It doesn't take much to set all this off...
today we are going to a New Year's Day brunch that we've gone to for probably 10 years, with the same crowd. We didn't know these people (other than the host) when these brunches first started, but now we do and it's fun to see everyone every year (the brunch is pretty much the only time we ever see them). It's shocking how fast the years go by, though. It always seems like it's only been a couple of months between these things. I was considering taking my own food because I don't want to eat off plan (yet again - these holidays have been tough), but she's having an egg/cheese/spinach dish and a Mediterranean salad (I had to look this up - fresh fruit with yogurt and almonds), so we may be OK. She's also having apple crisp, but I'll skip that. She's not the world's best cook, so I probably won't be missing much. I may take some raw veggies with ranch Greek yogurt dip or hummus with me just in case my control starts to wane. Then I'll eat a light dinner. I should be able to navigate this...
QOTD: if by the end of this month my efforts at weight loss aren't doing anything, then my "new" thing will be Keto or WW. My goal is to lose 10 lbs. If it takes a year to do, so be it. I've gained 20-25 lbs since my lowest weight (which admittedly was too low for me). I'd be happy as a clam and at my best weight if I could just knock off 10.
4.5 years out:
B: Greek yogurt with homemade fruit compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake (may just take this along to the brunch to sip on this afternoon)
L: egg/cheese/spinach dish, a small serving of Mediterranean fruit salad
AS: if needed, raw veggies with Greek ranch or hummus
D: maybe a plain turkey burger
have a great New Year's Day, folks!

Good morning everyone. I am sitting here in front of the fire with the windows open, listening to the rain. I enjoy my quiet time in the mornings. For some reason, my cat decided to put her paw into my cup of coffee. Maybe I wasn't paying her enough attention. She is such a Diva!
The past year was full of changes and I know this year will be too. I don't deal with change well, but if we aren't changing, we aren't growing I guess.
QOTD- I would like to do one of those mud run obstacle courses.
My food choices have been good! My goal was to end the holidays in better shape than I started. I am tackling regain and succeeding. I am sticking to 3 meals a day, no snacking.
Food for today-
1 egg, 3 oz ham
halibut, cauli rice
leftover smoked ribs
Lots of water and hot tea.
Good morning and Happy New Year menu friends! Miss Lily and I have our first 3.6 miles of 2020 done and will do another mile later today. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 120.4 today. QOTD continue to maintain my weight and make smart choices. I'd like to spend more time at the pistol range with my son. Here's the food plan for the day B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 2 protein pancakes with sugar free syrup D 4 oz brat burger with mayo and no bun. I had popcorn last nigh****ching tv and ate too much so no snack tonight. Have a great day full of healthy choices everyone !
I woke up before 5:00 this morning and signed up for Weigh****chers digital program. I am 19 pounds over my goal weight and really want to get back to goal weight by the time the swimming pool opens on Memorial Day.
My refrigerator is fairly empty today. I will do a lot of planning before I go back into a grocery store. I might do Walmart pickup to avoid some of the temptation of walking through the food aisles.
Breakfast - English Muffin, 1 tsp butter, canned peach slices
Snack - 6 grapes
Lunch - Sauerkraut and Pork
Dinner - To be determined
I decided my New Year's resolution will be to give up diet soda. I am going to concentrate on more water instead.
My exercise plan is to watch a movie on the treadmill with my Kindle Fire and only allow myself to watch it while I am exercising.

I feel like poop. I'm sorry for being negative more often than not. I just can't muster much. Hoping I find out tomorrow when I'll get into the pain clinic. Ugh.
