What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?

I usually have quite a bit of self control but the last 2 days there has been mindless eating. This has got to stop right here and now!

Karen you are the most dedicated person on this tread. The fact that mindless eating has got to you just proves these holiday suck for anyone with weight issues. But I am glad you posted your mindless little indulgences. It makes you human (cause I think your a machine on how dedicated you are) And it makes me realize I am not alone on the fight to refrain. Thank you.

You know where you been and I believe you will be able to wrangle it all in. We all struggle this time of year. Don't beat yourself up.

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve! JB, you look beautiful. Please don't beat yourself up. And can I say how jealous I am about the show at Symphony Hall. It's on my bucket list, for sure. That and 4th of July. Im ready for this day to be over and it hasn't even started. I went and saw Star Wars last night, so I didn't get home until late. I feel like if I could sleep for about 8493 hours, I'll feel better about everything. But, alas, it's not to be. Today will likely be a normal work day, then instead of sleeping for 8493 hours, I need to bake 8493 cookies. Sigh.

QOTD: TH, I get very sad around this time of year. We would always go to a family friend's for dinner on Christmas night. (my friend who is the plastic surgeon. His house) As the years went by, the traditions changed. As soon as one of us was old enough to drive, we would eat then the four "kids" would go to a movie. When Jeff (the surgeon) was doing his internship/residency, the tradition changed. He didn't always make it back so we would have our "Jeff call" where we'd pass around the phone. Inevitably, during that call the smoke alarm would go off and he would always ask "what's burning this year?" Now, his mother and my father have both passed. He's now married with a daughter and spends Christmas with his wife's family in Aspen. I miss my traditions.

My plan: Eating is still not going super well, but this is what I brought.

B: cream cheese with smoked salmon (off a fork)

L: I either have homemade mushroom barley soup with short rib meat or a chicken thigh. I's cold here so I'm leaning towards the soup.

D: my mother and I are cooking the smallest a NY strip roast i could find and I'm serving it with broccoli drizzled with apple balsamic vinegar and in honor of Hanukkah, potato latkes.

S: latte (x2) and the chicken thigh if need be

E: Zero, none of the gyms I go to have evening classes today.

Adding Symphony Hall to your epic trip to Boston this summer. It's a pretty quick walk to Fenway :) Or you can come over the 4th holiday, but you'd be on your own--I can't deal with the tourist scene down there--the people make me feel very very murder-y.

I wish I could send you the extra 8493 cookies that I made this weekend!

Happy Hanukkah!

I am actually seriously considering Boston this summer! I promised myself I'd take a vacation, but just need to look at my trial calendar and figure out the best time to get out of LA! Don't be surprised if there's a knock on your door!

Hello my RnY kindred! May you all have a beautiful Christmas Eve.

There is a lot going on in my life at the moment that is quite upsetting, but thank goodness thus far I have stayed pretty much in the lane with my food intake, albeit a little too cheese-heavy over the past two days. Today I'm careful as yesterday's cheese showed up on the scale. I've learned that I cannot buy much of the stuff and just have to go without for several days - at least 4 - out of each week. If it's in the fridge I seem to find it's siren call irresistable. At least I'm not compounding it by also eating nuts!

I wanted to pop in, late as it is, to wish every one of you a very beautiful, warm, and loving Christmas. may you be surrounded by all that is good! For those who are sore of heart during these days, may you find peace and solace. Also sending my best wishes for a very Happy Hannukah, a heartfelt Kwanzaa, and any and every other celebration anyone here may have.

First: Coffee, cashew milk, Salted Caramel SF syrup

B: Ham and the last ounce of Sartori Bellavitano Black Pepper cheese

L: One packet tuna, one HB egg, Skinny Girl Buttermilk Ranch dressing

D: Same as lunch

S: If necessary, another tuna packet OR another HB egg

May you all be blessed this holy night. Love you all. Be good to one another, and to yourselves. XOXOX
