He's also a crap doctor because your weight loss IS important in diagnosing and treatment.

If you don't think your weight hinders your performance or joints, then just ignore him. Orthopedic doctors deal with a lot of people who do have problems because of their weight. His words were poorly chosen but he probably thought he was helping you.

Honestly, for me, I am up 20 pounds and the weight is definitely too much on my hip and knee joints. I am older than you and I want to make sure I am mobile in my older years so I am working on losing them. I see too many senior citizens who struggle just walking through a store. I don't want that to be me.
