I totally didn't love the taste of Premier Protein shakes after surgery. I do want to second what Jen said, though, and urge you to just stick to soft things. Try ricotta cheese, either cold and mixed up with herbs or garlic, or warm it. Try greek yogurt. Try extremely moist tuna and mayo. Try soft cheeses. Try some different shakes - you can order a sample pack on netrition.com. For the first year or so, I was obsessed with Chike high protein iced coffee protein powder (from amazon) - I would shake it up with water and ice and yummy, like drinking a coffee, and getting in 20 g of protein. I know at a month out I couldn't do ground meats or dense proteins yet. Just take it slowly :)

I'd let my surgeon's office know. There's a chance it could also be a stricture. You're in the right time frame for one.

G'morning everybody!

It made me smile wide when I saw Jen and JB posting again. It takes me back to when I joined the menu thread. I can't believe it's been two years.

Well, our 4th is starting to look a lot like memorial weekend. Last night DH looks at me and asks "are we going anywhere for the 4th?", no, "oh, OK because Marc is asking to visit us"....and here we go again. So people start arriving on Wed night and stay till Sun. It makes me laugh because it's a first comes first served. The first family that calls gets the guest room. After that they need to find their own lodging. The kids, no matter how many, will stay with us. Our little town is famous for its shortest parade so that will be the plan for Thu morning and then BBQ till Sun.

I also found out that the ads/flyers for the 4th parade has a pic of ME on them, amongst other pics. It was the pic I posted last year when I was pulled in by the band leader. Looking at that pic first thing I thought was wow I was fat, but then I virtually slapped myself because I was 18 lbs heavier than now but so happy to be in the 150s for the first time in ages.

QOTD: my plan/goal is to stick to my maintenance, not get ****y and keep an eye on the scale. My goal is to keep it under 145, as long as I bounce between 140-145 I'm good. Easier said than done but that's my plan.

My meals for the day:

  • Coffee, coffee, and more coffee
  • Erick deli pilgrim sandwich (no bread)
  • Jamaican jerky chicken
  • Yogurt or parm cheese

Have a great Mon, everybody.

I has 5 days in a row over 10000 steps and walking consistently. Then I went to PT for my vertigo and instead of getting better it is now about 10 times worse. I spent most of Friday and Saturday in bed. Now any movement causes it, and when I walk I feel like I'm walking on the deck of a ship in a squall. So of course my streak ended and I'm lucky that I could even hang my laundry out yesterday. Plus I snacked too much and ate all the wrong things, an unfortunately found that wine reduces the nausea from the vertigo. So not very successful weekend all around.

I have another PT appointment today, hoping the vertigo will get better so I can get back to normal.

QOTD- Make it to the gym consistently and workout 5 days a week. Get closer to my goal weight and get my yard in shape.

Have a great Monday everyone!
