What's on your Monday (Christmas Eve) menu RNYers?

Good morning. Today is going to be a busy day. Cleaning and prepping for dinner tomorrow. And then candlelight service at church tonight with the family.

I am making prime rib tomorrow and I am nervous. I don't want to mess it up. Anyone have any tips?

QOTD- I bought myself 2 living room chairs from Wayfair. They will be here Friday. I am excited.

Food for today-

Black coffee with miralax

4 ounces boarshead chicken breast, 2 slices light swiss

cottage cheese and tomatoes

more chicken or ham

not sure on dinner. I am making clam chowder for the family.

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve! I had an amazing day yesterday visiting my son!! We had made and brought his favorite 7 layer bars and peppermint oreo cookie bark, his stocking and a few presents. I also got all of us the ancestry DNA kits, so I had him do his spit-bit so we could mail them all in together. It was really wonderful to see him, I miss his face sooo much and I just can't get enough. It was sad to drive away knowing he wont be home for Christmas but still thankful for the time we did get to spend with him. Today is chill! Taking the dogs to the park, last minute grocery shopping, home to wrap, a little cleaning, chill and get in a couple more must see Christmas movies. Tomorrow we are going to my brothers to celebrate.

QOTD - I brought myself a Dyson cordless a few weeks ago - a huge splurge and I am so in love! Yesterday, I treated myself to a mini shopping spree on base and bought tons of USMC stuff, sweats, hoodies, t-shirts, flags, a blanket, key chain and other fun stuff. I wish I had bought a mug, darn!

Can you explain the process of him coming home now? I am not trying to be nosy (I mean I am guess-LOL) but I just don't know how that all works with him leaving due to injury. It doesn't make sense that he can't be home for Christmas though.

He ended up having to work guard-duty (partially cuz he got in some minor trouble - I coulda' killed him) so that is why he couldn't come home. He is still waiting to be medically separated since he keeps re-injuring - he will need surgery eventually. It takes forever he is hoping to be home in March possibly but who knows. Hurry up and wait - he's been in rehab for 7 months now and is going absolutely stir crazy - hence the trouble he got into...

Ah gotcha! I was thinking that once they made the decision he would released but of course like everything else, there is a "process". I hope he is home soon.
