Good morning everybody! Janet, your brunch sounds really yum. Today should be a quiet, stay at home day for us. We are going out to dinner with Marilyn's tennis friends tonight. I haven'****ched Christmas vacation this year, maybe I will do that.
QOTD: I like most of the holiday songs. Marilyn usually plays the Nutcracker at home. I do get tired of We are the World fairly easily. Is Springsteen's version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town on your tired pop list? I always love the saxophone on that. What about Tom Tom club? I haven't heard that one this year yet.
We went to a neighbor's house and their children had four different stuffed animals that lit up, danced and played different holiday songs. Of course they couldn't resist the temptation to play all four at the same time. Cacaphony.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Light and fit

Sashimi, yum! I found some at the Whole Foods near our house, so I had that for dinner too! I've been really hungry for it.

Morning everyone!
Today we have to clean the house, and then I've decided that I am going to make vegetarian portobello burgers to contribute to a Christmas Eve potluck dinner tomorrow night. I'm going make the patties today and get everything ready to go. My other half wants to make Halvah which I have absolutely no taste for, so I'll just stay out of the preparations for that.
Last night we had a Christmas dinner at a restaurant with a bunch of friends. That was a little rough since I just transitioned to puréed foods. Pretty well everyone in my life knows about my surgery so it wasn't like I had to field questions about why I wasn't eating. However, watching everyone eat their amazing looking pastas and pizzas was a little annoying. That said, I ordered a minestrone soup (the only thing on the menu I could even remotely pretend to eat at this Italian restaurant), and took a few sips of the broth only, and gave my partner the rest. I sipped on decaf coffee and water the rest of the night.
QOTD: Mariah Carey Oh Holy Night for sure... I just love her entire Christmas album. Well both of them.
B: 1% Cottage cheese
S: vegetable juice
L: low fat cream of broccoli soup

Morning all. I ran a smidge shy of 10 miles- today- I was stoked! Just ate breakfast, and will indulge with a glass of orange juice/water in a bit. No tea plans for today- may do some work stuff, or I'm reading a book I may settle with for a bit. Definitely avoiding the stores- if I go anywhere it will be early tomorrow.
I don't have a desire to make the usual sweets I make during the holidays. I won't be making pie, or cheesecake. I'm sticking to simple better crocker mixes, and the baked donut recipe we've grown fond of.
Qotd: favorite classic holiday song is the Carol of the Bells. Christmas is Hollis (run dmc) will always be a favorite since I'm a native New Yorker. Yesterday as I was making cookies I had the music streaming and a cup of hot cocoa-- great times!
217 today, a little progress I'm the right direction, 3.7 years out.
M1: egg, ham, cheese stick, tater tots
m2: teriyaki chicken, cheese, pickles and tomato on 1 slice of bread
m3: ??

Good afternoon! I think you are doing great with your holiday meals. I've always felt that if we can have a taste of treats after filling up on healthy food that we can avoid feeling deprived but stay in our weight ranges. I find that it is when really tempting treats are leftover that I get into trouble so I try to make sure everyone takes them home. And I try to have the treats for my husband be things that I don't crave too much.
Speaking of DH, he got lost walking the dog last night. Another step in his journey unfortunately. He was okay in the daylight today, but I guess the nighttime walks are mine from now on.
QOTD: I like really traditional Christmas music, but have a hard time knowing where to get it. Anybody know any good ways to ask for it on Pandora or one of those sources? Alexa didn't come home with us so I can't use that source. Speaking of which, we had carolers come to our door last night! It has been years since we've had that. Really wonderful!
