Still feeling nauseous
Glad to hear you're on whey protein isolate. It's not been that long since surgery so that's probably a big part of your nausea but your doc will let you know for sure at your appt tomorrow.
Tip: Go slow on advancing your diet and if you run into any difficulties you can always go back a stage. Everyone's different on what they can tolerate post-op. Now's the time to baby your GI system and give it the time it needs to heal 100%. Be patient; you're doing great so far!
Ugh. I had nausea for app 3-4 months. Drinking strong ginger tea (slice ginger and put it in hi****er), allow it to cool, then drink. I used to make strong ginger infused water and add that to my tea as needed. I boiled slice ginger in water for app 5 min, then put all of that Ina har and keep in the fridge.

I'm 7 days out of surgery, still on liquids (well shakes, broths, jello & pudding). I didn't have hardly any nausea but they put me on Prilosec on day 1 to curb stomach acid & I really think you may need that. They said I will be on that forever.
My issue is I feel pressure & air bubbles rising up my gi tract everytime I eat/drink anything but hopefully that will fade. Plus I've had a sore throat & earache for 3 days now.
Side note: I've learned warm chicken broth is better if you make it with chicken base & ho****er rather than the boxed kind which is kinda bland :)
I had a sore throat for about 5-6 days after surgery. They said it from from the tubes in my throat during surgery.

Congratulations on your surgery and I'm glad that you are doing okay. I'll bet the sore throat is a reaction to the breathing tube that they used during surgery. I'm only on liquids for one more day and then it is on to pureed food. If that also upsets my stomach I'll talk to my family doctor about getting some medication. Thanks for the great advice.
I'm a little surprised they didn't put you on a PPI (like omeprazole (Prilosec)) for awhile. Lots of us are on it for 3-6 months after surgery (I had to take it for a year - but it's gotten some bad press lately, so I think a lot of surgeons aren't doing it for that long anymore. Some weren't doing it for that long even back then!). But you might want to ask about it. It's no fun being nauseated all the time!
