What's on you Sunday menu, RNY'ers?
Mornin'!
So starting now I have a stretch of several days with no meals out, followed by Christmas week when my brother will be here, so we'll undoubtedly go out a lot. So this is the week to REALLY focus on my plan!!
Not much going on today. We saw a dresser we really liked at an antique store yesterday (not really an antique - it's mid-century). It's a lighter wood than the existing furniture in our room, but our current dresser has got to go, and we really like this thing. Maybe we can eventually replace the other furniture so at minimum everything is roughly the same color (or maybe it doesn't matter??). Now - we need to go back and measure the thing to see if it will fit in the space, AND if it does, figure out how to get it home...
QOTD: I'm drawing a blank. Can anyone think of one?
3.5 years out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with 1/2 mango
MS: coffee with half & half, protein vanilla pumpkin latte shake
L: Emiepie egg salad on a Flat Out wrap
AS: hummus with baby carrots
D: not sure. Maybe gumbo. Or some kind of chicken/veggie stir fry if the chicken breast is thawed out enough
I love mid-century, too - plus our house was built in 1952, so it'd fit perfectly in here! (the other bedroom furniture we bought new, so it's no particular style, but it's dark wood because our old place was a flat in a Victorian-era house. It looks fine in here because the style isn't Victorian, but still, dark wood. The headboard could be easily changed, though (it's been chewed up by a former cat, anyway - so not in the best of shape), and the other dresser is on the other side of the room, so maybe it would look OK in here..)

I make them w/Quest protein powder - unflavored baking mix or any flavored pp they are all really good!
I can never finish this recipe (so I usually make half):
28 grams of protein powder
1 egg or 2 egg whites or my preference - 1/4 cup eggbeaters
1/4 tsp baking powder
water to thin if needed
to taste: splenda, vanilla, cinnamon, salt - taste the batter - it should taste great
Then cook like a regular pancake
For a savory pancake - I use the unflavored baking mix pp and add a slice of cheddar or swiss cheese to the batter in the pan- I only use salt to taste here - it tastes like a grilled cheese. You could add anything i guess - ham or bacon even - ok now I have to try that, ha!

I think if you like it, it doesn't have to match!

Good morning, menu friends! Another cold but sunny day here in the Illinois cornfields. Lily and I will do our 4 miles in a bit after people get in to the church next door so there's not much traffic as there is nowhere to walk except alongside a busy road that used to be Route 66. We will get it in just like we did yesterday. Accountability was good yesterday and weight is 126.4 today. I'm still not drinking enough though so that's the goal for today. I've got to get the fluids up to get my weight to drop. There's no getting around it. I've just gotten out of the habit and I have to get back at it. Heres the food plan for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 1 c chili D 4 oz baked chicken S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day everyone and make your very best choices--said to me too!
Morning all! Another rainy day here. Warmer but very dreary. My weekend has been rather odd. We did some errands early yesterday but it was so miserable out and people were driving insane in the rain, we just came home. I ended up baking several batches of mini quick breads to give as gifts--pumpkin cranberry w/ walnuts, banana bread w/ walnuts & my favorite cranberry orange bread w/ pecans. They all turned out well except that I made the pumpkin cranberry in disposable pans and because the sides were cardboard and not very stable, the loaves spread out rather than rising...ugh! It is a great recipe though so I'll whip up at least one more batch that look nicer to take to work. Also want to make some lemon poppy seed bread and cherry cardamom bread. Then maybe I'll switch to some cookies or fudge. I really do love to bake at this time of year but things have been busy enough that I haven't gotten as much done as I usually do. Oh well, not that anyone needs the calories and carbs! lol!
Our only other plans are possibly going to the movies to either see The Grinch or The Favorite. Any opinions?
Accountability: I've had some tastes of my baked goods, but done pretty well with packaging things up as soon as they are cool. That's the only way that I manage not to binge on some of the things. I also make sure that I make some things that other folks like and me not so much...it isn't for me anyway.
Menu:
B: lots of coffee thus far...then some deli ham
L: Probably 2 TJ's chicken sausages, baby carrots
S: Salmon jerky
D: I have pork chops in the fridge that I should make
