I still contemplate what my end goal is going to be as well. I will be 1 year post op next week I am currently at 169, I feel like I want my goal to be 160 but I can't decide. I started at 315 on my first pre-op visit and 291 the day of surgery.
Im glad I read your post. Gives me some insight on what I want to work towards too!

Congratulations on your loss! Sounds like you have done very well, and you're not quite a year post-op! I at first aimed for being under 150, then under 140. I am now 136.2. I feel good weighing in the 130s, and do not feel I am yet done despite having reached my goal. I will probably go down to around 127-129 before calling it the end of my weight loss phase. At this point my BMI is 20.7. We're i to weigh 127, my BMI would be 19.3. I do not want to go any lower, but I do feel it's an advantage to be slightly below the middle of the normal BMI range (18.5 - 24.9) as you enter maintenance, as it seems that virtually every one experiences a bit of bounceback. However, I will have a DEXA scan in December, and if my body fat % is deemed too low at that point, I will stop attempting to lose any further weight, and instead will concentrate on maintaining.
Best of luck to you!
