QOTD- I must be weird because I actually like hanging my clothes outside to dry. I love the way they smell and the act to me is a sort of walking meditation, you have to slow down and be in the moment. I can't seem to get the dishwasher unloaded, and I'm not so great with bills, it's more not having enough money to pay them. I'd also give up doing the yard...

I've been up a couple of pounds but I think it's just too much salt and not enough water. I'll monitor it and hopefully the scale will start moving the right direction. It also could be I'm just concerned about the upcoming EGD, four in the past a little over a year is too many. But the pain is gone thanks to the PPI and carafate, so not waking in pain at 2AM is a good thing.

I have my friend staying with me for the foreseeable future, he's been a live in caregiver and the situation has become unbearable for him. The person he takes care of has become more unstable and belligerent, and frankly just mean. So I don't blame him for wanting to escape. Hopefully he will help me to get better organized and accomplish some of the tasks I've been putting off. On the negative side I've been too used to living alone, and it is not easy to adjust.

I decided not to take the other job as it is too far outside my comfort zone, and the pay increase isn't important enough to make the horrible commute. Plus I just don't have the sense of stability my current job provides, I may be a contractor but my job is stable and I will have a job for as long as I want.

Happy Hump Day!

Good morning!

I can't sleep in to save my life anymore so I got up earlier than usual, grabbed my gear, hopped on the bike and away I went. It was windy! I landed at the gym for a long workout and then rode the rest of the way in to work. Feeling great but frozen. Still getting accustomed to never being warm.

Menu: coffee and a protein bar for breakfast, and a handful of grapes but I go easy on fruit. Sometimes it sits ok, sometimes not.

The coffee was flavoured, this time "hot chocolate and marshmallow". 0 cal but amazing taste with that protein bar. Holy Moly.

Am snack was an oikos Greek yogurt. No AS unless I drink a shake.

Lunch is a salad with tuna.

Supper is a meeting so I will just have a snack later but protein forward.

QOTD:

Taxes. I'd give everything about them up in a second. That and cleaning up when my kids get sick in the middle of the night. And bathroom cleaning. LOL

Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.

G'morning all!

Well, survived yesterday. I feel like I've been run over by a truck. It's hard on your body being on your feet for about 15-16 hours. We had a no show for one of the clerks (the electronic voting expert) so there were about 45 minutes of pure panic before we opened the polls at 7:00. At the HQ they didn't have any extra people to send our way so I had to learn fast how to operate the machine on top of other duties. The training for that class is 3 hours but we had a 20 minutes lesson and crossed our fingers. At the end it all went well. At 9:30 pm when we delivered all the ballots to the county office my back was killing me. I don't know how I did this in the past with 110 extra lbs on me. I also have to say all the snacks I took to the polling place a) were a hit with voters and workers b)I didn't even take a bite of any of them - my biggest achievement.

NSV - one of the poll workers who didn't know me from before WLS saw me eating an epic chicken bar for lunch and asked me if that's how I keep my "svelte figure" - her words!! I just about choked on my chicken I was laughing so hard.

B: coffee protein

L: lunch date with DS - sashimi

S: yogurt

D: turkey meatballs

Have a great hump day!

Hi all! Happy Wednesday!

I went to an election night party at a local restaurant, hosted by the political party I prefer. It was kind of great! There are a huge number of artists living on the island here, and I am an artist, so it was really interesting to meet and speak with many of them. There were a couple of men there, one especially, who sort of took me under his wing and told me he would introduce me to all of the movers and shakers in the art world up here - he apparently knows everyone, and everyone was coming up to him to embrace and say hi. He was very nice though a little touchy-feely; I wasn't able to determine whether this was just his warm way with people, or if he was coming on to me. I am hoping it was just his warm way with people! But I will take him up on his offer because I'd love to know the folks up here who are doing such interesting work.

I'm glad the election is over. I'm glad I spent last night in the company of people who feel as I do about our country. I have to do my best to have a hopeful take on our country's future! Change is inevitable, and truth always wins out in the end.

First: four mugs of tea with a little of that incredible SF Salted Caramel Torani syrup. That stuff is so incredibly delicious! I have to limit myself with it or I'd go through a bottle a day. I'm not kidding!

B: Ham with this unreal sharp cheddar from England - OMG is that ever good cheese - possibly the best I've ever tasted. I am limiting the amount of ham I am having too - it is good and decent protein but salty, and it has a little sugar in it (not much but still) so though I can have it, I want to have it less frequently than I was having it before).

L: Salmon with cajun seasoning and a little nonfat plain Greek yogurt with chives

D: Salmon, as above

This will give me plenty of protein, so I won't need a snack.

Have a wonderful rest of your day, my friends!
