Morning...

Picture is one of me and baby girl that a friend took at the park a few weeks ago.

Qotd- I really really hate tangled cords. Like earbud cords and that sort of thing? I MUST FIX THEM! lol

I am having a difficult first week "back". But it has been a revealing one, and I know some changes I need to make and think next week will be better.

B- egg and veggie sriracha bowl, coffee

L- tuna fish, and I think I have a little bit of salad greens kicking around that need eating up.

D- kale, tomatoes, butternut squash...need some protein in here.

S- yogurt and some frozen berries

Hi!

I finally heard from my Bariatric Doctor about the nausea I continue to have. She said that nausea can linger awhile post-operatively. This makes sense because I have essentially been nauseated since I awoke from surgery about 1 1/2 months ago

She said that they sometimes use the antidepressant, Remeron (mirtazapine) for a short period of time to manage the residual nausea. I would like to try it, but I have a few concerns.

First, I have a long history of depression and my Psychiatrist already has me on 2 different antidepressants. I am waiting to hear from him as to whether it would be okay to take Remeron for awhile.

My other concern is that Remeron stimulates appetite and causes weight gain in people. The last thing I want to do is "wake up" any hunger pains or interfere with my weight loss just after my WLS. I will have to ask my Bariatric Doctor more about these concerns.

I will wait and see what the recommendations will be from my Psychiatrist and Bariatric Doctor.

QOTD: My job can be very stressful at times. Often, there are times when complex decisions need to be made rapidly. At other times, I just need to think out treatment plans. What drives me absolutely insane is when I'm trying to concentrate and someone is chewing gum and making snapping noises. This totally destroys my ability to think.

MEALS TODAY:

Breakfast: lactose-free, no fat, high protein milk

AM Snack: cheddar cheese

Lunch: turkey, mustard, dill pickle

PM Snack: sugar-free, low-fat Greek yogurt

Dinner: refried beans with melted cheese on top

As I said above, I love pictures of animals. The first picture is my "Super Dawg." At least, I think he is!

When my cat was alive, she would not insult her dignity and allow me to dress her up. The second photo is a rare picture of her when I actually got a Halloween hat with flashing lights almost on her head.
