Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!

Good morning! I was up at 2:20 am, I am thankful I was able to get back to sleep until 6.
I am looking forward to a relaxing day.
QOTD- One of the things that helps me be successful is to have a plan. I cannot have chips or crackers in my house. I know what my triggers are. Also to try and log on here every day. This is a wonderful board with lots of wisdom and encouragement.
I am 21 months out from surgery. I am not quite at goal, but I get closer every day. My surgeon says that I am at goal, but I want to lose another 10 lbs. I am still trying to figure out what my goal should be. I wear a size 10 and a medium shirt, sometimes a large. I feel good and I feel strong.
Accountability- I have been spot on and it feels great.
black coffee with Miralax, beverage of champions! lol
B- 2 eggs and 1/2 c. cottage cheese
L- 4 oz shredded chicken with salsa
D-Not sure, it will just be hubby and I. probably something on the grill.
S- chomps or a chicken sriracha stick
Lots of water and vitamins always
Have a good day everyone, be kind.
Yes! Not having trigger foods in the house is huge. I will eat 3 bags of popcorn a day even now if it's in the house. Not good.

Good morning. No long weekend in general, but everyday is a weekend when you are retired (sorry...).
The wedding shower was fun last night and I was back on Cape Cod with DD by 9:30 am this morning. There was a 2 mile backup at the bridge but since I know how to navigate the backup optimally it only cost us 5 minutes (maybe less). For those not familiar, Cape Cod is separated from the "mainland" by the Cape Cod Canal over which there are 2 4-lane bridges. At peak times, the traffic can back up as much as 5 miles. The challenge is that the road is 3 lanes then merges to 2 at the bridge and the speed drops dramatically. The trick is to stay in the right lane until forced to merge, then once merged immediately go into the left lane which moves faster over the bridge and into the rotary after the bridge. It is faster this way because most people are afraid of the merge (or don't know where it is) so they go to the left right away when the traffic starts, but it is easy to do the merge last minute because cars let you in at that point. Also, most people think they want to go into the rotary on the right off the bridge but both lanes over the bridge go into the rotary.
QOTD: So many things made a difference especially in maintenance, but I'll try picking the top 4: Tracking my food/calories, posting and reading on OH, weighing daily, and eating protein first (including fish which I didn't used to eat much).
2 Years, 4 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 20 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: ? (Out to dinner with DD - probably fish)
S: Siggis yogurt
I'M MAKING COTTAGE CHEESE IN THE IP TODAY - WILL REPORT RESULTS!

Update to yesterdays post, I feel much better today :) and thank you everybody for your kind words of encouragement.
QOTD: I'm not sure about this 0.0 most of the time I feel like I'm getting it wrong lol but I did hear some great advice that I think goes for everyone. Surgery isn't another diet and you have to get out of that mindset. You really have to change your whole life, your entire outlook on food and what it means to eat, and even on day to day activities. You are no longer that person who will drive around the parking lot for 10 minutes looking for the closest parking spot just to avoid walking anymore.

Morning weekenders. I am in Bend, OR on a weekend family vacay (subs, nieces, greats). The weather is perfect, and will be in the low 80s.
QOTD: I am 3 years + 9 months out. I still weigh and measure everything, weigh daily, eat dense protein, plan my meals for the day and generally white knuckle it. It gets harder, believe me.
I don't have a menu today, except for dinner since it is my assigned meal to cook. Likely eggs and bacon for breakfast, lunch is unknown, and my planned menu for dinner.
I am grilling country style pork ribs with a hoisin BBQ sauce and bulgogi chicken thighs. I also am making a sesame noodle salad, an Asian style coleslaw and a mango jicama salad. I also marinated some veggies and brought tortillas so people can make bahn mi tacos if they want. I will be sticking to the protein and a little mango salad.
It will be interesting to see how the kiddos react to what I am going to cook.
Have a great day, and anyone in the Boston area, stay safe! The weather looks threatening.
