What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
I am up too early for a weekend again. Surprisingly though it is not cause little kids woke me up! I have to go to Costco with a neighbor because we are hosting a little block party tonight. Should be fun.
Qotd: I am pretty much still a big kid... I play video games, sleep too much, listen to music too loud, my house is full of toys and plushies.... maybe, although I am not in college anymore, my much younger self would have been appalled that I ever elected to go to school and then did the homework and did well...
Accountability: uh oh... I was curious about a batch of cookies I made for our guests. I make them all the time but they didn't bake the same, they are not the right color or shape, so I tried a half of one. It was good for a cookie I guess, but it was awful too. I didn't enjoy it at all. It didn't mess up my day really, but for 40 something calories I wi**** had at least been "worth" it. What's worse, I couldn't even figure out what happened with the recipe!
BF: 2oz cream of wheat, 3 inches of banana mashed, 1 egg
MS: 2oz canned chicken
L: 2oz deli sliced turkey, babybel cheese, 2oz cottage cheese
AS: 2oz refried beans, 1/2 serving Cabot extra low fat cheddar
D: not sure yet... hosting the party so probably a bunless salmon burger with a little mustard...
Today is my MIL's funeral so I will be eating a little, Minnesota "lunch" afterward. The hardest part will be avoiding the homemade bars made by the church congregation bakers. Your garden story reminds me when my FIL was dying from cancer yet drug himself out to tend to his gigantic garden. When he asked us how our garden was doing, my DH replied, "I didn't plant one this year--too much work." The shocking look of disappointment made me wonder if my FIL died thinking his son was a failure. QOTD: My DH is far from a failure and I enjoy Saturdays helping him with farm work where I can.

Hello my Saturday morning menu friends!
My weight has been moving in the right direction so far this month. I've experienced a couple of sluggish months in terms of weight loss in spite of sticking to plan, so it is kind of thrilling to be seeing a responsive scale, even if it's just a few ounces per day! Overall when I think of where I was and how stuck I felt just a year ago, I am gobsmacked by the change! Just a few more days until my 1-year surgiversary, what a milestone!
QOTD: As a kid, I couldn't imagine the appeal of just sitting around at the dinner table talking, the way the adults did. I couldn't wait to be excused so I could get up and run around, playing! I wasn't specifically athletic - at all - always having been more of a dreamy, artistic kid, but I also loved running around, riding my bike, dancing, going swimming in the summer or sledding in the winter, and most of all, going horseback riding! Now of course it's a joy to sit down and catch up, lingering with friends over a meal, or coffee, etc.
First: 38 oz. of herbal tea!
B: ham and smoked gouda
L: ranch tuna, maybe a pickle
D: an egg, ham & cheese scramble
S: not sure yet, but protein forward
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Good afternoon,
I didn't get up very early. My brakes were grinding yesterday so my car is sitting till my nephew can work on it Monday. I was going to go to my dads house today but I called him last night, let him know.
Good news, I got the job at the daycare. I start Monday. At least I can walk there, it's in front of my apartment.
My friend called this afternoon and told me, her nephew hung himself this morning but he's still alive. His grandpa found him. Prayers that he'll survives this and gets the help he needs.
I stayed on plan yesterday.
Qotd only thing I can think of I hated as a kid was gardening, I might enjoy it now if I had the place to do it.
B ham and cheese omelette, string cheese and pork and beans
L tuna, cottage cheese, honeycrisp apple and watermelon
D keto lasagna and peas
