What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Morning Weekenders!
Well, we're off to the farm again shortly! My parents are having a new roof put on. It's friends of my brother in law. So I will go and be part of the ground crew, and I'm bringing lunch, pulled pork, buns, coleslaw.
what does everyone else have planned?
qotd: last weekend, while working in the garden, I was whipersnipping, my dad was using a hoe, and my sisters were hunched over planting. And I thought...adults are weird. As if we find this kind of hard work fun or relaxing hahaha
What is something you enjoy doing now, that your kid self would think is the worst way to spend a Saturday??
menu:
its all jumbled, but will include pork, premier, probably some egg salad.
have a good one!

Good morning! Busy day for me, I'm going to get my hair done--opting for a shorter bob with lots of layers and I'm having it colored a dark-to-purple ombré. Then my cousin and I are going to a tattoo place to see about getting matching tattoos with our family name. We likely won't get them today, but maybe get an appointment made. This evening we are going to see a performance of Puddles Pity Party. He's worth looking up on YouTube! He's a clown who sings covers of modern songs, and his show was highly recommended to me.
Qotd: when I was younger, I detested my mom making me do yard work. Now I maintain a big garden. I think the other thing is thrift shopping. My child self was mortified that we had to shop thrift out of necessity--we were The Poor Kids, and it was all a big embarrassment. Now I hunt out new thrift stores to check out and brag about my deals!
Not much planned menu-wise today except breakfast, which will be coffee and Premier, and possibly scrambled eggs. I'm sure my cousin and I will stop somewhere for lunch, and completely not sure about dinner. We might eat something at home before heading out, but I don't know what.

Morning all.... I am so glad it is Saturday! This past week kicked my butt I put in 73 hours between Tuesday and Friday... I was all excited to sleep in this morning nope I'm wide awake at 5:30... ARRRRRRRRRR.. Today is a busy day I'm taking my 92 year old gram grocery shopping which should be fun... A trip that should take 1/2 hour will be 2 hours and then becomes the argument that she really does not need to buy a family size package of hamburger when it it just her... Man I love that woman but sometimes. Later on we are going to do a BJ's run our supply of paper products is below my comfort level (we only have 50 rolls of toilet paper in the house I know I know only two people live here but this girl has her standards).
QOTD: Actually sitting enjoying a cup of coffee, reading the paper, and clipping coupons... When I was younger I never would have thought that would be cool but I love the two or three hours I spend on Saturdays' doing that.
Food:
B: eggs, cheese & salsa
L/D: we are going out to either Texas Road House or Outback as I have coupons and gift certificates for both. I will reach into the envelope and pick one and which ever one I grab is where we are headed...
Have a great day friends.... Thinking of my daughter and all her friends in DC today as they participate in the pride parade... Hope they have fun and are safe!
I agree with you about chilling with your coffee! It is such a wonderful thing!
I hope that your DD and friends have fun today at the parade. I haven't gone for a few years but it is usually great fun. Calling for thundershowers this afternoon though so I hope it isn't a mess!

Morning weekenders! I got to sleep in a little this morning even though the cats were up very early. Sometimes they pester me until I get up. Today they played musical chairs on who got to sit on me and get pet. With 5 cats (one of whom is a basically a hermit), sometimes I feel like I need octopus arms to be able to pet all the furry heads!
I am seriously missing swimming and hiking! I had my last drain removed on Thursday and my activity level went down until Monday when they can check whether everything is healing properly. So even though I'd like to get out, I'll be mostly watching Netflix and doing crossword puzzles in bed and in the recliner. Not all bad though! We are headed out to Trader Joe's in a bit and then to pick up DW's new glasses. Maybe a stop for a late brunch too. I also am driving a friend to the airport at noon, so I won't be housebound.
QOTD: Most of my life I had severe asthma that was made worse with activity/exercise, so the thought of going for a vigorous hike would have filled me with dread not joy! Much the same with housework. I can't say that I really "enjoy" doing housework, but I certainly like the way things look when it is done so I try to do it regularly.
Menu:
I've already had coffee and a protein shake, but the rest of the day is pretty up in the air. LOTS of protein though for healing.

Mornin' All!
Heading to yoga in a few - I'll have to shower afterwards, as I'm already running behind..
we're probably going to Chicago later on today. Or the 'burbs, anyway. We were originally going to meet my cousins downtown tomorrow, but now we're meeting out in the 'burbs instead because of stuff going on in Chicago (crowds, no parking - no thanks). So we COULD leave early in the morning now instead as we won't need as much time to get there- but I think we'll still go today. I'd rather be "fresh" since we'll be pretty busy with them tomorrow.
other than that - yoga - coffee & newspaper - not much else on the agenda.
QOTD: getting up at the crack of dawn, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper!
3 years out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade blackberry sauce
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein latte shake
L: turkey taco meat with lettuce, tomato, plain yogurt, salsa
D: if we're in the Chicago area, then something Middle Eastern - maybe hummus and a chicken kabob
Good morning menu friends! Its going to be another muggy day here in Illinois so Lily and I got up before 5:30 and already have our 4 miles in. We'll do another mile right before dark. Accountability was good yesterday even though the prednisone has the urge to snack kicked into high gear. Lots of knitting was done to keep from taking extra bites. QOTD shopping in thrift stores. When I was younger I hated used clothes because it meant we didn't have much money and I didn't have the trendy clothes the other kids did. Now I love finding good buys! Post op 5 years 9.25 months and weight at 119 today. Heres the food plan B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butterL 4 oz deli ham and cheese 1/2 c spinach D 4 oz strip steak 1/2 c spinach and mushrooms S 5 oz cottage cheese with 1 T no sugar added blackberry jam. Have a great day full of conscious choices everyone!
Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!
Nothing much on the agenda for this weekend except laundry and grocery shopping. Fun, fun.
QOTD: Getting up at 6 am. When I was a kid and a young adult I was a real night owl and definitely NOT a morning person. Now I get up at 6 am for some odd reason, and go to bed by 9 or 10 pm. I also love drinking my coffee in the morning and I hated the taste of coffee as a kid, but I love it now.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 130, Calories - 1,362, Carbs - 125.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: chicken cold cuts & cheese on 45 calorie bread, light & fit Greek yogurt
D: crustless chicken pot pie, light & fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana
E: Walking Blossom
Have a great day everyone!
