What's on you Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
I am only 11 weeks out and already have a bit of anxiety about what to say when people start asking me what I'm doing to lose weight. I'm not ashamed of my surgery but I hate that most people are uneducated about it and make judgments about it being "the easy way out" or that I couldn't just do it "the hard way" like i've done a hundred other times, and I really just don't want to hear them tell me what their opinions are. I made my choice and it was the best one I could make for me...but the judgment is real...the people I care about most already know.
I've kind of tried to change the subject by saying thank you for noticing, and I've been working really hard (because it's true!)...and your daughter is right, you don't owe anyone an explanation, but it does become tricky when people start asking questions and getting nosy and you don't want to be rude by saying "none of your business" lol...everyone wants the secret to successful weight loss, so it's definitely a compliment...but not everyone is ready to hear that weight loss surgery is probably the most successful "secret" out there!

This was tough for me as well, so I just had a standard reply. If someone I knew said, Oh wow you look great, look at you, how did you do it? I would just say "oh thanks, yeah I had a procedure and I've been eating high protein low carb since then, plus working out". If it was someone who was morbidly obese, I might have said "oh I had weight loss surgery and I've been eating high protein, low carb since then, plus working out" (in case they wanted to ask me about it). By calling it a "procedure" to the first group of people, I wasn't lying ("I'm doing it all myself with diet and exercise") but it feels much more casual. It's just what worked for me! I mean, no one needs to know your medical history so of course you can just say thanks and keep it moving, but I felt like I couldn't lie about it...especially since I told my friends and family and close co-workers, so I figured people would just talk about it behind my back if I wasn't upfront about it LOL.
good morning everyone!
I am so excited to have a new desk at work in front of the giant window! I know it's all in my head but i feel like the Vitamin D is giving me a boost of energy LOL. (yeah I know it can't be absorbed through windows).
I think I may have finally hit a stall but pretty sure it's due to my cycle coming a week early and being bloated from water weight...its only been a few days though so it may not be a real stall...
QOTD: I was just thinking about this on my way to work this morning, I really miss this lip gloss that I used to have and they don't make it anymore- I don't even remember what brand it was, but I think it was CG or Revlon- it was called "wet-shine diamonds" and I had it in 3 different shades and it was so moisturizing, pigmented, shiny and not sticky like tons of glosses are. I still have a tiny bit left of one of them but my favorite one was a sort of gold/copper color and super shimmery. I have not been able to find one that even sort of resembles it and I have at least 50 different lip glosses / lipsticks in my makeup chest (yes I have a chest because I have a slight makeup obsession). Cosmetic lines change so frequently these days it's best not to get attached to any product unless you want to stock up on it, but they also expire after a while so that doesn't always work either!
Morning: coffee w/half caramel PP
B: 3 turkey bfast sausage links
L: cheddar smoked sausage
S: dannon L&F greek yogurt or hummus and baby carrots
D: tuna salad on cucumber slices

Good morning!
It's a gorgeous day here as well. I'm loving it! Finally summer!! I too am having the same issues with my summer clothes. SIGH. I guess I'm going to HAVE to go shopping. it's a hard life, but I'll do it. LOL
Accountability: 100% if anything? Not enough the past 2 days but that's because work has been nuts. But I'll also take it. I've been over eating for months.
QOTD; I HATE it when they stop a product I like. Drives me nuts. I too have hoarded products. Most recently it was a body wash I loved. Super cheap no name but smelled so good. Gone. and I won't mention all the food products.
Menu: Small today again, as work is super busy. next week should be back to normal. We are in "consultations" so that means rooms with no windows and minimal breaks. Just easier to have my shakes in my water bottle. yesterday we forgot to break for lunch. 2:30 someone finally said. I'm getting munchy, must be close to lunch? Opps. We were all that engaged.
Breakfast: Tea with restoralax
snack: premier protein
Lunch: Protein shake--Fuzzy peach flavour.
Snack: Quest double chocolate cookie/sipping on another protein shake this afternoon as well. (red raspberry flavour)
Supper: STEAK on the BBQ, and some asparagus if I have room. Steak is the priority!! It's McHappy Day so everyone wants to go and grab Big Macs, but I have steak taken out and it's sunny. Steak on the BBQ wins!!! HAHAHA!
Snack: Sugar free popsicles if needed, or more STEAK. :)
Exercise: treadmill for 45mins, no weights tonight. I'm going to see I am Pretty with friends (they are going to Mickey Dee's, it's a birthday supper/outing for a friend's 17yr old daughter) so I have limited time to work out.
Have a great day everyone! Happy Hump Day!

Good afternoon,
I almost overslept this morning for my oil change appointment. At least it was close by and they had coffee available. It was 71 on my car temperature gauge. I think the weather has took a change for the better.
Accountability I had cheesecake at lunch and pizza for dinner. Trying to be back on the right path today.
Qotd can't think of anything
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna, cottage cheese and honeycrisp apple
D cheeseburger no bun and cauliflower
Have a good day
Good morning everyone. At least it is still morning in Portland. Today the weather is going to be glorious (high 70s), so I will spend most of the day outside working in the garden and getting the front porch set up for summer. I've been buying plants like a maniac, and I need to get them all into the ground or in pots today.
Accountability: I did really well yesterday, except for a late night handful of baked chips. I was still within my macros, but jeesh. Why oh why did I do that?
QOTD: I absolutely loved the MAC long lasting lip color. I could put it on in the morning and it would last until I went to bed. I was heartbroken when the discontinued it. I've been looking for a substitute ever since, but nothing comes close.
